Good thinking, I m just ashamed we do not have as many stores here in europe wich are able to provide so much "side hardware" for growing pressing building almost whatever u want.

I got the one for metal clay after breaking the hash press I got from the smoke shop(dont try to hammer the little presser piece out, it'll never slide thru again) It worked real good, pressed up all my hash. No problemo.

I know that there are many hash and kief lovers out there that don't like to press their hash. I'm wondering, however, whether there is any possibility that either light heating during pressing or, maybe even the pressing in and of itself, engenders decarboxylation and may actually be helpful. Or not. Thanks!

Interesting question for the local resident chemists. Not being one, I'd only be guessing. However, once decarboxylation starts and the resulting CO2 is released, I'm guessing that the Tetrahydrocannabinol would now be in a state to quickly decay and deteriorate. Even though the act of pressing itself does generate heat, I think it would be insufficient to start the actual chemical reaction.

Great idea!

Great idea!

Anyone tried using a heat gun to remove the puck from the extruder? It was suggested, but I'm hesitant to damage the goodies...

I had so many little bags knocking about with very dry un pressed hash from previous bubble bag runs.

so i got chopping with a little razor blade, bought myself a clay extruder and away i went!

the blacker one i heated up a little bit more than the others actually had a wee bit of smoke coming out the little clay extrusion hole!

There are also, for those of you in the E.U,plenty of decent, inexpensive Asian-made copies of "The Piecemaker" to be bought all over Amsterdam, for about 30E.

Two notes from extensive use in the last few days.

The heating methods in here really are kind of a try and error system to learn. I've tried most of the ideas in this thread with varying levels of success. So far the best method of success I've had is to use a couple of lighters to heat the cylinder. Get about three lighters and hold one at a time up where your product is in the cylinder and the end cap. When one gets too hot, switch to the next one. I find after about three-five minutes of working the flame around the cylinder turns out a nicely formed puck.

Also a slipped a little food plastic on the plunger disc after having several pucks stick and break apart on the plunger. After putting the food plastic on the plunger, haven't had a single problem again.

These things are freakin' great. I don't know why I never took the time to get one before.
