I own a piece of remote land at 4400 ft. elevation that borders a National Forest Wilderness area in southeastern Arizona, east of Tucson. I bought the land in 1979 and held onto it until 2004 when my wife and I decided to build on it. We have an 18 foot, 1985 trailer parked permanently and raised on blocks with flagstone patios and dry stack rock walls surrounding it. We built a 20' x 30' pole barn over it that gives shade and acts as a rainwater harvesting collector. It drains into a 1500 gallon black poly tank.

These photos are of our screen porch with a view up Color Rock Canyon. We enjoy it during all seasons but built it primarily for hot weather so we can sleep at night without any non-natural cooling. It catches the breezes perfectly being 50 feet from the edge of the canyon's cliffs. At night there is a neat exchange in summer that has the breeze alternating up the canyon for 10-15 minutes and then down.

My only problem now is a pesky bear or two that rip the screens every year just to see what's inside. I'm building shutters in order to keep it safe throughout the summer. Here is a photo of an old forest service fire lookout on Mt. Walker on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. It no longer stands on top, but I took this photo from a historic display that has been placed on the same spot where the cabin once was.
