some of the best times we had as kids were when we went to the drive-in theater, lol, dad was always cussin' mad looking for a good spot AND a working speaker, they always ran music prior to the movie so that you could find a working speaker. we always had a Cadillac ragtop (I remember 3 of them) so viewing from the back seat was great. Instead of a candy counter there was a whole building of concessions, all kinds of food stuff besides the usual movie theater fare.

now drive in theaters are making a comeback, instead of the archaic speakers on a post the movie's audio is delivered by low wattage AM radio signals so you get the audio through your cars sound system. They use frequencies above 1710 kHz AM so that there's no actual radio stations broadcasting/competing for that signal.

great shot of drive in and those fords are my favorites STONER. had a lot of good times at the drive in's, had one were I used to go in country, they had 4 car bodies out front of café with just seats in them lol.
