Since the demise of the large Dead Head I've had a slight reshuffle in the main area

ADH on the left and CM on the right
Time for a haircut

I hope I didn't go to far but it's early days yet so we'll see what happens :)

When the Wedding Cake and OG Kush are finished on the cab cycle they can squeeze in the middle
First I need some clones from them and maybe try to pop a male Glue Cookies to make some nice crosses

This is the unidentified plant that has served us well for decades. Will post more pics when it's nearing maturity
Originally it was called Golfball locally but not sure if that's the real name or just what they called it because of the shape of the buds
The smell and effect has stood the test of time in these parts against most other strains
Good for all day and doesn't really give you the munchies and does the trick year after year
Smell is not citrussy at all or diesel but more earthy and dank. I'll find the right description later

Turned it young as a filler in case everything else was gone, that's why it's small 😛

Beautiful looking plants. :respect:You show that you've done this a time or two. Whats the medium and nutrient if any, are you using? I'm pulling up a bucket to follow along :lurk:

Found a little pollen pod on the Critical Mass on the right today
I wonder if the haircuts I've been giving her have stressed her a little?

New light arrived today so I upgraded the Golfball for the last month or 2 of the bud grow
It's great having white light and I forgot how nice it is having no fan noise :)

Click image for larger version Name:	20210828_161906.jpg Views:	0 Size:	96.0 KB ID:	17928760

The Australian Dead Head is coming along well but still has many months to go
Click image for larger version Name:	20210828_163535.jpg Views:	0 Size:	156.2 KB ID:	17928761

The Critical Mass has had TWO haircuts in the last 7 days, it was growing so fast. I will mostly leave it to mature now with the odd large leaf being removed to let the light penetrate the lower buds
Click image for larger version Name:	20210828_163553.jpg Views:	0 Size:	138.5 KB ID:	17928762

The OG Kush and Wedding Cake have moved in with the Aussy Dead Head and the Critical Mass on the 12/12 cycle
OG front WC back. Might move the OG to the rear since it seems to grow faster and bigger
Click image for larger version Name:	20210828_175255.jpg Views:	0 Size:	140.8 KB ID:	17928763

The 2 Glue Cookies have moved into the tent the WC and OG moved out of. Time to have a stretch :)
Click image for larger version Name:	20210828_170650.jpg Views:	0 Size:	108.0 KB ID:	17928764

And the nursery has a Cookies Gelato seed which hasn't popped yet. Not sure it will at this stage since it should have been up by today
2x Wedding Cake clones at day 5
and a new tray full of OG Kush clones using different methods to see what works
All dipped in Clonex gel and some cloning powder
There are 2 different sized jiffy pots and I'm trying a bit of coarse coco coir for an experiment
Click image for larger version Name:	20210828_174039.jpg Views:	0 Size:	89.8 KB ID:	17928765

Good news, the Cookies Gelato has popped after all
Looks like it might have succumbed to bacteria or bugs though
Might have to grow the seeds a bit more before placing in the dirt next time

Another week in lockdown has gone by watching the grass grow :dance013:

Here's an overview of the main area
Click image for larger version Name:	room.jpg Views:	0 Size:	141.1 KB ID:	17934600

The Australian Dead Head is recovering well from her intense haircut and is smelling very lemony when touched
Click image for larger version Name:	ADD.jpg Views:	0 Size:	153.7 KB ID:	17934601

The Critical Mass has had 2 haircuts and is also coming on and it's really starting to smell like musky honey and clover now
Click image for larger version Name:	CM.jpg Views:	0 Size:	150.6 KB ID:	17934602

The Wedding Cake (front) and OG Kush (rear) are coming along nicely and will need a haircut soon to let the light penetrate to the lower bud sites and so the leaves stop hogging the nutes
Click image for larger version Name:	WCandOGKush.jpg Views:	0 Size:	128.8 KB ID:	17934603

One of the Glue Cookies is coming on strong while the other looks a little over fed
Click image for larger version Name:	GlueCookies.jpg Views:	0 Size:	107.2 KB ID:	17934604

OG Kush clones. The Jumbo Jiffies looked good in the shop but they don't seem to work as well as standard ones or straight cocoa choir
Click image for larger version Name:	clones.jpg Views:	0 Size:	109.9 KB ID:	17934605

The Wedding Cake clones are growing roots and should be OK once I get them planted in larger pots but it looks like these large jiffies are no good and will have to go
20210904_201857.jpg

And finally for this week the Golfball is coming along well and I'm really tempted to cross this with the Glue Cookies if I can hatch a male from the regular seeds I got
I was ready to get rid of the strain since we've had it well over 10 years and have no idea what it really is but after growing a few others it seems to have a lot going on in comparison
It's strong and fast growing and tastes and smells awesome :yay:

Another week in lockdown has passed and things are progressing well

The main garden keeps ticking away but the Cookies Gelato seed that popped succumbed to bacteria or bugs. I'm popping another now using the method between the sponges in a sealed container floating in warm water heated by an aquarium heater.

Main garden

Australian Dead Head. Still months to go...

Critical Mass. Well on it's way and smelling sweet :)
Click image for larger version Name:	20210911_104344.jpg Views:	1 Size:	138.4 KB ID:	17940300

OG Kush in the rear and Wedding Cake front. I gave them a major hair cut a few days back and they seem to be bouncing back
Click image for larger version Name:	20210911_104359.jpg Views:	1 Size:	131.0 KB ID:	17940301

2x Glue Cookies at the rear and 2x Wedding Cake at the front
I think I stunted one of the GCs over fertilizing but it will probably snap out of it soon once it starts soaking up the nutes.
The WCs are clones and are in the Jumbo Jiffies which I won't be using again. They might have a PH problem or something but they always yellow the leaves.
Click image for larger version Name:	20210911_104441.jpg Views:	1 Size:	126.0 KB ID:	17940302

Back in the nursery the OG Kush clone testing has confirmed my suspicions about the Jumbo Jiffies.
All of the clones have rooted well, even the ones in straight cocoa coir.

Meanwhile the Golfball is going great. I really might have to hang on to this strain.
I did a little bending of the stalks and accidently touched one of the buds and my finger tips were just covered in honey :)
It smells kinda gassy and like tree gum. I don't really know how to explain it but there are like fumes coming off my fingers I can feel in my eyes.

I got a bit bored so I've started an experiment in the nursery
I read an article here last week about poppin' seeds using a container of warm water to control the temp and I've extended it to cloning to see how well it works.
There are 2 seeds in a container I started 2 days ago, a Glue Cookies (hopefully male) and Cookies Gelato and I made some Wedding Cake clones today and floated them in the warm 25°c water also.
As a comparison there are some in jiffies and some in larger pete pots I filled with a coarse cocoa coir I purchased in a solid block.

Hopefully a male Glue Cookies left and Cookies Gelato right

If all these clones take I have no idea what to do with them all 😋

Take care everybody :)

Set up a new tent today
1200x1200x2000 (4'x4'x6'6" in ye olde measurements) replacing a 900x900x1800 tent
Sooo much room :)

Glue Cookies from seed (rear)
Wedding Cake from clone (front)

Another week has gone by and there have been a few changes
The OG Kush has been eliminated from the grow totally due to hermies
The new tent has given me a little more room
I am trying a new fermented seaweed liquid fertilizer
And the new incubator floating in water is fantastic for root production in clones and also for popping seeds :)

The Dead Head Is going well but there is still a long way to go
Click image for larger version Name:	20210918_114959.jpg Views:	0 Size:	149.8 KB ID:	17945920

The Wedding Cake has a little more room since the OG Kush hermied and got put down
Click image for larger version Name:	20210918_115027.jpg Views:	0 Size:	135.4 KB ID:	17945921

When I open the curtains in the morning the whole room smells of dank honey from the Critical Mass :wahey:
The leaves on the rear plant are a little pale but the buds are forming nicely so I'm not overly concerned at this point. The stress might even be making the buds form a little faster than the front plant.
Click image for larger version Name:	20210918_115015.jpg Views:	0 Size:	146.5 KB ID:	17945922

The new tent with that shoe shop smell makes a good home to the Glue Cookies from seed (green tag) and Wedding Cake clones(pink tag)
Click image for larger version Name:	20210918_115125.jpg Views:	0 Size:	112.5 KB ID:	17945923

Hopefully this is a male GC this time
Click image for larger version Name:	20210918_115229.jpg Views:	0 Size:	154.1 KB ID:	17945924

Finally got a Cookies Gelato to grow properly from seed. The jiffy pellet in the incubator did the trick after popping between the sponges. I was planting too shallow before and the growing sprout had nothing to grab hold of to push the root down and the leaves up. This would explain why a lot of my young seedlings needed support. I am now planting 20mm-25mm deep. Most if not all of my previous grows over the decades have all been from clones so this is newish territory for me.
I am going to test some different methods of popping seeds which will involve a sealed container floating in the warm water but this time I will start them in the jiffy pellets or cups with medium or grow cubes and bypass the sponges.
These are all Wedding Cake clones taken at the early budding stage during a low prune and the lone seed in the jiffy is the Cookies Gelato
All the clones in the jiffys are showing multiple roots already and looking very healthy. The ones in the pete pots with cocoa coir are looking healthy but not showing roots yet. Jiffy pellets look like the go.

Click image for larger version Name:	20210918_115410.jpg Views:	0 Size:	93.2 KB ID:	17945926

Last up is the Golfball. It seems to be a very fast grower and is staying nice and frosty. The pistils are going a salmon color.
