The search for a proper recovery pump..

We were sent a pump to test out by a friend of ours. I wanted to share the picture to let the community know we are doing our diligence in testing various pumps. We haven't made any claims to having the holy grail of recovery machines, or anything remotely close.

No BIG secret really. My only concern is having someone see the pictures, model #, and so on, and think that we would recommend or use something that we haven't tested on our own or been tested in the field.

No worries man, I think some of my posts seemed hostile towards you after re-reading them but it wasn't intentional. It just seems like people forget things that are posted 2 weeks ago and its a new discovery all over again, props to you for actually getting one to try.

It's all gravy. :)

I was just really excited to get it in and finally get to test it.

I use the promax, they are essentially the same thing right?

Are there any differences from what RB and GW earlier explained?

CM or Nanjing Wonfulay Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. only makes the R600 rated one with a oil filled compressor. What you have there Terpp has oil in it my good friend

We supposedly have something else... That's why we got testing to do.

And people wonder why I didn't post model numbers. lol :p

Lets just say I'm saving my mula for what's in store. Several people are working on this issue. Somewhat of a marketing 'race' for some, and an efficiency problem that aches itself to be fixed ASAP to the rest.

Won't be long now, and I thank everyone putting forth efforts.

Thanks to you as well terpp, got my fingers crossed! Wish I could experience the testing!

Thanks Chonkski! If you were in the Colorado area I would invite you to come and partake. Or if you want to make a trip to Colorado. :)

Thanks for the offer! If I was in the right spot right now financially I'd already be ordering the tix!

I'll have to take a rain check though, would love to come say what's up.

WOW. What a bunch of bullshit.

"In order to make a profit, the manufacturers of these extraction devices are selling and recommending these extremely dangerous refrigerant recovery machines to their customers and telling them that they are safe to operate. The simple fact is they are not."

Geez. That's almost as bad as spreading misinformation to the community to promote your product line.

1) Show me one instance where a recovery machine "exploded".

"In response to the dangerous practice of incorporating these recovery machines into extraction devices, Appion, the makers of the Appion G5, widely utilized in the cannabis extraction industry, has released an Urgent Industry Safety Alert titled “Hydrocarbon Explosion Hazards with Refrigerant Recovery Machines."

1) These companies are trying to cover their ass.
2) There are HC blends and recovery machines designed to pump these solvents.
3) Anyone remember when these companies got burned by several pallets of warranty replacements before they figured out what was going on?

I hope I see these goons at the next Cup. I've got a few words for these clowns. Anyone want to join me?

Yeah, okay...

Yeah, okay...

I would love nothing more than to be a part of that conversation.

I've had it with all these low blows in the industry.

Clearly these folks have a dog in the fight, because they are directly competitive with non passive systems.

What someone has done, is take a few fragments of truth, like for instance the oil less recovery pumps that most folks use are not explosion proof, which is of concern, and expanded it into mass poisoning of the populous from lead and cadmium by their competitors.

I hold both the person crafting it, and the folks publishing it culpable, even if they are not one and the same, because it is as unethical to post such grossly inaccurate and inflammatory information, especially striving for a competitive edge.

One thing for sure, anyone who would create some of the BS they did from whole fabric, is most certainly no one I would ever trust enough to do business with at any level.

Clearly artistic, but its sight glass centerpiece is a Achilles heel. I wait with baited breath for an ANSI/ASME review and certification of their passive device, while predicting that it isn't going to happen.

In addition, anyone who has used both powered and passive systems, knows passive systems are both slower and limited in capabilities.

Words are wasted on wolves, because they are making their judgements based on closely observing the actions.

These folks actions demonstrate that they clearly they feel strongly enough that they need an edge, as to be willing to go to the lengths they observably have.

That says a lot about not only them, but their core beliefs about their product.

One thing I've been questioning because of my lack of pump knowledge, is if this is actually true?!

"The first warning is that the unit should be only operated in well ventilated areas. The very simple reason for this is because the refrigerant recovery pump leaks during normal operation. Normally the concern would be that it leaks refrigerant vapors into an enclosed area. Under use in a BHO extraction in leaks highly flammable butane or propane. This is apparent from the second warning. There is a listed refrigerant loss of <3% listed on the side of the recovery machines. That does not mean zero percent, but rather just somewhere less than three percent. This negates the whole purpose of a “closed-loop” extraction system where the industry should be striving to recover all of the hydrocarbon liquids and gasses being used. In addition, we found that when sitting idle, these refrigerant recovery units will continue to leak the entire flammable contents of the extraction machine, usually a GALLON or MORE of liquid butane or propane, overnight into the structures they are operating in"

There is no way I lost a gallon of butane from how much I have ran.

just read that sasquatch glass article....i had to leave my laptop outside for a while cause there was too much bullshit coming off the screen. the guy who invented "cannaluminescense" i recognize that machine quite away. as someone much craftier than i pointed out to me when i first saw this machine its just clever wording. he claimed to be splitting the thc molecule on a sub molecular level which left me scratching my head. upon review when a photon interacts with the molecule it does react and cause you chose to add the light you technically "did" split the thc molecule.....but lets expand that further for our own purpose. so if i took a bite into an apple in a dark room, and turned the light bulb on with the apple placed close to the light source....by their thinking i did split the apples atom sub molecularly because i chose to turn the light bulb on and sped up oxidation.....*face palm*

to so blatantly make up crap like that, just to advertise their own products is quite shady.

Clearly artistic, but its sight glass centerpiece is a Achilles heel. I wait with baited breath for an ANSI/ASME review and certification of their passive device, while predicting that it isn't going to happen.

heres the technical specs for that sight glass gw. the thing is not designed to have temperature or pressure fluctuations. inside temp = really really cold....outside temp = room temp. the larger the delta temp difference (and the endothermic property of butane) the more chance you have of it blowing under pressure, especially when it has a low tolerance for pressure to begin with.....they need to invest in that mythbusters portable explosion proof wall.

Sight Glass 6" Stainless Steel SS304 with Protection around Borosilicate Glass, Maximum Pressure 40PSI Rated, Maximum Temperature 75 degree F.

I am about to invest in some equipment to add onto a buddy's 5lb bhogart. I was wondering if anyone has much experience with the CTS TR21 recovery pump. I'm thinking of giving it a try instead of the Appion. I was also wondering if anyone has tried allowing a slow trickle of liquid butane on the inlet side of the pump during recovery to help lubricate it and reduce wear and tear.

had 2, broke 2. they run fast and lasted for a while. they also run quite hot, theres a video online of someone frying an egg on the pump. the appions use a radiator to cool the gas, where as the tr21's use the mt69. i do not recommend using the tr21's without a heat exchanger because the pump runs very warm and youll be warming up your nice chilled recovery tank.
