Off topic, I've seen ratdog a couple times in the past few weeks. I really hate to say it, but Phil is making much more interesting music than bobby. As a whole. Phil plays with better musicians in my opinion but to credit bobby, he has brought along Steve kimock. Incredible guitarists.

what i wouldnt give for a proper summer tour
if by proper you mean hiring a driver and renting an RV, I agree

You said it. Couch tour with the three day run sprinkled in. I don't mind hippies, I just hate the fucking crowds and all the traveling. I like flying somewhere and posting up at a nice hotel for the weekend and see three shows. That sounds about perfect

Sounds like me. I used to go to quite a few shows, but stopped about a decade ago 'cause of the crowds. It wasn't only that there were lots of people, but it was the people themselves who ran me off.
I got a call from an old friend last Fall telling me she was gonna be in town and I should do the Dick's run with her. I wasn't sure how much I wanted to do 3 nights, so I got a Saturday ticket & met up with her downtown. Wicked-fun rooftop hotel pool party & then a really incredible show. I see the scene has improved as well. It's more folks my age again & not so many strung out kids...didn't see that at all actually, but didn't do Shakedown either. This year I'm gonna join 'em again - maybe even for all 3 nights

Too busy this year. Last year I only caught 3 shows. This year might only be 1... Wah wah. I miss 12 show summers.
