Back from an errand of mercy. With the bunion that Mrs Pute has she had to get a special pair of shoes. So we had to head into town for a pair of sketchers that the foot doc recommended. Than now makes two pairs. The other we got at REI last week. i hope these help.

The holes on the prongs of electrical plugs serve to securely grip the bumps inside the electrical outlet, improving contact and preventing the plug from being pulled out of the socket.
One of the other reasons, and it only implies to large scale manufacturing is those two little holes that are punched out, add up very quickly and lessen the cost of making a plug… I want to see my doctor at the USF campus and as I was pulling up to the campus, the nurse in nephrology asked me where my blood samples were. I told her I had no damn idea, but she’s got the urine samples. Now I gotta go give more blood and make another trip into town. It’s a fairly nice drive but I will take the truck because I do not want the valet in my new car…

Colorado democrats are trying to sneak in a bill that would:
- allow them to take away our children if we don’t affirm their “transness”
- forbid us from WRITING anything about it
- allow them to not cooperate with other states laws if kids come here (ie take YOUR children)
- make misgendering and deadnaming against the law
Among other things.

Look at a plug from, say, a lamp or charger at home. If it’s a polarized Type B (one blade wider), you’ll likely see holes near the tips of both flat prongs, about 1/8 inch wide. Modern outlets don’t need them, but they’re a quiet nod to how things were made 50+ years ago. If you’ve got an old house with 1940s wiring, you might even find an outlet where they still “catch”—try it and see.
So, short answer: the holes are mostly there from manufacturing convenience and a bygone retention trick. Nothing fancy, just a quirk of history.
