Cloudy mit der rain today, starting at 35F and predicted to reach 44F.

A nice visit yesterday from the former SPR student that sent me the glowing letter of thanks recently. The whole story is that he invested several millions in profits wisely from his cannabis related business during the fat years before adult use legalization brought in the big boys and forced the small operators out of business by lowering prices .

He then sold his business to one of his bigger competitors for another million and is retiring at age 49 to start a new profession developing the real estate that he purchased when prices were down.

He attributes his success to our Skunk Pharm Research classes and to my wise advice and counsel, but in truth, while I did bring the business opportunity to his attention and did give him advice and counsel along the way, it was of course his own hard work and sacrifices that made his business a success and it is he that deserves the credit, so my hat is off to him.

He also entered the market at exactly the right time and is getting out at a good time, reinforcing the adage that, "timing is the essence of all things", (along with long hours and hard work).

I just stumbled across some seeds that I had stuck away, labeled Wedding Cake X Mint Cookies made by Loompa (John V) that I think I will try this coming outdoor season.

Has anyone grown them before?

(*sigh*) I am sorta like the guy in the alley with a bottle of MD 20-20 and one of Taittinger's 1961. Because of my not-yet-patented smoke-saving method, I have sacrificed taste for maximum owie-control over maximum time.

I love to read of you guys discussing finer points of the myriad strandivars... even if I will never have the ability to discern those finer points.

Something about the way you describe your life does not jive. No way could you carry a hundred or more extra pounds if you are honestly and truly walking 6 miles per day. That would speed up your metabolism, and adjust your ravenous desire to eat, accordingly. So, pardon my french, but I call bullshit on that. Sleeping for 12-14 hours per day, and going to bed at the time that you do, is running away from life. And a sure sign of depression. As brother Boo discussed buy a hand barbell set. You can lay on your back and use them. While you are there do some sit and push ups. Look on Craigslist for them, or call the salvation army. Until you do something about your disturbed mindset, everything wrong is going to stay in place. Try being honest with yourself. Try doing something purposeful and constructive that requires thinking. Like reading for an hour, at least, before blasting yourself to the moon. You create & allow all your problems.GL

Chickens are the same way down here. You go to an auction and get a really nice buff Orpington layer and they’re 20 bucks apiece minimum and you gotta buy a half a dozen…
I sell my laying hens for 20-30 bucks and they sell quick. I couldn’t sell them for less. I feed a hen for 8 months to start laying. Hatch that egg and feed it for 8 months before it is sold as a layer hen. Plus the cockerels that are hatched. Feed them till sexed, either cull or eat ourselves.
At 30 bucks a bird I’m paying for feed and maybe a few dollars extra, tops.

I miss the days of $5 bags of feed. Wasn’t too long ago. Feels like it was. 2005 was a completely different world compared to today.

I know I'm gonna sound like a mother but doobs, you eat crap, drink poison, and smoke hash in excess...do better with the diet, slow down on the smoke, and do something other than walking...you got other muscles that need exersize...if you don't use it you're gonna lose it...if I didn't go to the gym for the last 10 years I'd not be able to do the stuff I wanna do...hell, I can hardly do that stuff now but working out really helps both body and mind...balls in your court brother...
At least get a row machine

Morning

Frost again this morn but the next week we get to enjoy a false spring. Then back to freezing. The groundhog WILL see his shadow here among the Oaktree's. A late spring.

More garden prep is on the agenda. More spring cleaning too. About filled the dumpster already.
