Evening folks! After that 2+ hour nap, I felt much better. Ran a few errands and came home to no internet. It's finally up. K's napping, shrimp for dinner.

peace

We just put out the contract to rebuild six of our bedroom and office windows. We looked at Andersen, Marvin, and Pella but we decided to rebuild the existing casement panels instead of replacing the windows.

They strip them and take them apart, replace any rot or damaged pieces, reassemble and reinstall. We have to paint to match, but we were planning to re-paint the house this year anyway.

Besides replacement windows narrowing the opening, they were all composites instead of wood. That would actually lower the value of our 1927 home. All the rest of the first floor windows, except kitchen are leaded glass.

The existing casement windows all have indoor storm windows, so little to be gained by adding another 1/2" of dead air space.

Also cheaper. Bids for replacement ranged from $39K to ~$20K and rebuild was about $9K.

China? They would be pissed if the juice nuked Persia. Did you mean Russia, as they have a security deal with Iran.

Trump got landslides to focus on America, not take orders from tiny Israel.

You must be mistaken. I never discussed nuking anyone ever (not a supporter of war). Kindly jump on the warpath with someone else. Regarding Big Orange or Kat Lady I could care less. Same to me. And never talked BO bowing to Bebe.

They are beautiful. Like the front door we just replaced with individual panes like that. Never thought of a refurbish job. Great idea, they don’t make them like they use to.

No they don't and the rest of the first floor windows besides the kitchen are leaded glass with panels that match the windows we're rebuilding.

nice stuff pute, many cows hate you...enjoy my friend...
Here is something to ponder. When checking on a slaughterhouse for my beef. I asked them, what do you do with the hides? They said, toss them in the trash and charge the customer $100.oo disposal fee. I was shocked to say the least. There isn't anyone close who tans them. They said and I couldn't find anyone. Such a waist.

My plan is to TRY to tan them myself. Even told Blondy that when we butcher Ribeye, she would have his nice heavy skin to keep warm under. That didn't go over to well. She's still hasn't forgiven me for saying that.

I have a Remington 870 I inherited from my grandfather. It’s got a cracked stock and 45 years of lackluster cleaning. I really don’t care to shoot much 12 gauge anymore. My shoulder is ruined from a motorcycle crash and 12 gauge just hurts. They do make a gas strut stock that absorbs an advertised 60% of felt recoil.
Thought about doing that and a tactical forestock, ext mag tube and maybe a flashlight mounted. Probably live in the safe with the rest of them.
