Rescues they call em here… usually folks with more $ than sense … many supplied with food $ from folks in LA that want to feel good about, but would never do themselves….I had such living near myself when in foothills for 30yrs… cranksters that could care less about dogs till one ended up dead… homes full of shiat they would sleep in camper… many were pit hybs and would pack up regularly….,2nd time crossed fence onto my property and shredded a young Chessie pup I spent good money on training with my kids… lucky they were at school cause I didn’t think twice about dispatching …. Fuc wad came out and confronted me as I finished them off… go for it dik head… you be next….all could see was one of my young kids next in line to be shredded… and that wasn’t happening…
I’m first to say I love dogs..but like your kids if you can’t control don’t have ‘em…

had hoped the same Pute… been in Cali forever… luv the weather, availability of fresh food, entertainment-music…but getting older and all I want is peace n quiet… allowing my dogs to run free on property… no frikken close neighbors…just leave me alone…except for my kids and few close friends….makes for a happy barefoot…

yea DB.., tired of driving ..ran north to Humby for yrs moving wt… so much traffic.. constant road work and assholes at every turn…yes on Giants/A’s … Niners at Kezar… Raiders plenty and been to most all blues clubs within reason…last time in LA.. Cadillac Zack’s club to see Chris Cain…otherwise never cross grapevine…
a geography nut as well…
I would recommend GA except, we're full and the pot laws might not be to your liking.

Evening folks! Did the few things on my list. Cut back on some stuff. I've got plenty of propane and the fuel is well within date...

Still pissed at the cat for shitting on the bath-room floor. I just changed the litter box yesterday. K's frying chicken and I guess I'll crack a beer and trim some pot.

peace

One of the places we really liked when we went on our hunt was the Berkley Springs, WV area. Found a great house with 5 acres at the end of a mountain road. Property taxes were $328 a year. Still close enough to the big metro areas Of DC and Philly as well as the Mid Atlantic beaches.

The big downsides was availability of quality medical care. Mrs K has several specialist she has to see at least on a yearly basis. Didn't want to have to drive to John Hopkins for doctor visits.

Here is the Eaton fire that started in Altadena after it moved east when the wind shifted at 05:00 and blew the fire into the mountains behind Arcadia.

Wind died down but they've issued a warning for mandatory evacuation for the foothill houses north of us abutting the fire line. Keep your Docs and pets close at hand and be ready to haul ass in other words. Doesn't affect us.
Light winds fanned the fire most of the morning and kept the chopper busy doing water drops keeping it from coming up the back side of the foothills. Very pricy real estate there.

We used to dirt bike in the 60s on the crumbing roads left from the first attempt to develop that land. Was all graded with asphalt roads in but naked raw dirt building pads when the rains came and washed it all away. Roads were cut in half by huge 30 ft deep chasms. It was the 1990s before they tried building on it again.

This is what’s left of the Pacific Palisades. The mall survived. Most everything else is gone. Homes, apartment complexes… businesses.
