So I went outside to check the sky out like @giggy suggested this morning since tonight is a good chance to see shooting star action. There are a ton of unusual things up there tonight. Some with red and blue lights that don’t seem to move but are definitely not stars. Also I saw on of those light trains I’m thinking a satellite passing by and a bunch of of the red and blue light things filling the sky. Do yall see anything weird from where you are? It’s a clear dark night here on the east coast of Virginia… just wondering what all is up there. I need to look up more
I didn't make it out last night to look. Where you live you probably will see more things in the sky cause your close to the bases there. I'm a little more out in the country and away from airports and bases. While in the navy and out to sea, I saw lots of stuff in the night sky. Lights that go from horizon to horizon, all the stars and planets. With today's tech there is no telling what you might see, could be a few drones aswell.

I had a Model 94 Win in 30-30 and Dad's Marlin Model 36 in 30-30, both of which were nice pieces, but my favorite brush gun was my Model 70 458 loaded down to 45-70 velocities. It wasn't pleasant to shoot at factory velocities.

I also had a Siamese Mauser converted to 45-70, but it was lighter weight and not as pleasant to shoot.

After my son inherited my guns, he and my nephew took the 458 out and although I also gave my son the loading equipment and supplies, they picked up a box of factory ammo and shot one round each off the bench with it.

My son shot a deer with it in a Louisiana swamp, using a factory 500 gr solid slug and when he went to cut its throat, he discovered that he had shot through the deer at the shoulder, passed through a 10 tree and killed another deer that was standing behind the tree and some brush.

Thats what those 44 mag, 3030, 35, 444, 4570, saw a 357 lever are for.
See where Henry puts out a 410 lever and the object to that was?
Would the Henry also shoot the 45LC? I think it was originally available in that caliber and the difference is chamber length.

From a practical standpoint I don't understand the point unless you wanted a saddle gun to use both for big game and birds/snakes, et al.

I actually favor the 12ga for a household round. You can load them with anything from salt to buckshot or slugs and for indoors bird shot works well. Less likely to shoot through walls and kill family or neighbors in the adjoining properties.

At close range it also makes one big hole rather than a bunch of little ones.

I drug Mr. sub out there but he was not as impressed as me maybe because it was cold out there. Still wished I had a telescope hooked up to maybe get a better look at what I was seeing.
‘Hope you are feeling well today Giggy 🥰✌️

Some lump kieff and it smells and tastes fruity even more than the FunkBerry kieff does which is something.
This years starting off way better than the last few hope it has some endurance.
😆

Perfect stuff for making a few hundred BadKat capsules.

Me too. A famous Sneakydicker Fambly story is about my Great grampa: He was about 12 years old or so and thoroughly drunk.

And he was being chased by his Daddy. He was up for a whuppin' no error. There was a log that spanned the stream and the kid ran across it. He picked up an axe to cut the log.

Missed, and cut the end of his foot off.

SOOPER UNCA TRIVIA: I was twelve years old. I had walked about a mile down to the railroad station to meet my Daddy and walk home with him.

There was a row of stores just before we turned to walk the last 1/3 mile to our house. One of them was The White Horse. Daddy walked in, and the place smelled wonderful and strange. We sat down on stools at the bar.

Nobody was there except us. Daddy sez: "Two beers."

Bartender: "That kid ain't eighteen."

Daddy: "Cut the bullshit and give the kid a beer."

That was the first over-the-bar beer in my life, and I never forgot it. I was utterly shit-faced by the time we got home.

It was my first weekend off base after arriving in West Germany back in 1974. This scrawny 8-year-old kid climbs the bar stool and orders a Beer and a pack of smokes. Chugged the beer in the time it took him to smoke a single cig and he was out the door.

We are definitely not in the USA.
