I grew my hair I out once. After the third time I got my hair caught in the wheels of a creeper I went home and cut it off.

I heard of guys drilling thru a close tough spot and get their hair caught in the days of long haired guys

That of course is the other thing. I had to look like Fortune 500 corporation engineer to get the job and when dealing with upper management or customers. I let it get fashionably longer in the 70's but went back to my original style to make it easier to take care of.

I have thick wavy hair and a bad haircut last less than a month, while a good one will last six weeks or so. The difference is how well they thin it, after cutting it to length.
