Has anyone made oil with glycerine?
I did once in the magic butter machine. It was very dark and sweet. My SIL used it for cancer relief when he couldn’t smoke anymore. Was like a tincture he put it in his drink. I still have some in the fridge for over a year now super dark. Don’t really know what to do with it. I wonder if it’s stronger now.

I have only made butane oil, I'm thinking of trying glycerine, how did you like it?
Depends on how you make it. A long cold extraction comes off like wild honey with the different flavors charging off in all directions.

Is faster and more complete when extracted hot, but tastes more like a soup with all the flavors blended.

I actually still have some Glycerol tincture that I did in 2013 and it is still tasty.

A disadvantage of Glycerol is that you can only get about 30 to 50% saturation and can't easily remove the Glycerol later to make it more concentrated.
I made a tincture with food grade glycerine. Some say that glycerine does not bond with cannabis as well as alcohol. I only tried it a couple of times and don't remember very well as it was a while ago.
Glycerol is an alcohol but it dissolves different things than Isopropyl or Ethanol because of their different dielectric constants.

Butane is non polar with a dielectric constant of 1.77, ISO is polar at 18.2, Ethanol is 25.3, Glycerol is 46.5 and water is 80.

If you extract essential oils by any of the other above methods and try to redissolve it in Glycerol, you find that everything won't dissolve.

Thank you. So what is the best solvent that I can purchase legally for making oil from flowers? Will different solvent use sacrifice anything ?
