Thanks for your help dog. It took 11 hours and was just perfect. You would never had known it was my first try 🥰🥰
we were all pulling for you Subie Smoke!
Its a lot of pressure smoking a expensive piece of meat and worrying about not doing it right.
It was quiet a while ago ,but when I started smoking meat ,with those same fears as you ,I practised the first coupla of times smoking a 18" piece of 4x4 cedar till I got the knack.

Hi Sub, oh, I'm happy your brisket turned out. Always nice when you do something for the first time and it doesn't go sideways. :)

Some nice roots on that gal. They should help grow some nice flowers.
Thanks old man. Yes I was really happy it turned out good. I also had chicken tenders for a backup just in case. The kids/grandkids took everything leftover so no sandwich for me today 🤣. We are cleaning the fridge for supper tonight. I needed room to put all the stuff for tomorrow’s meal. Should be pretty easy only have to make the turkey gravy mashed potatoes and heat everything up in the oven I made today. Will definitely have leftovers as there are only three of us. Hope your day tomorrow is good too and you will eat some leftover turkey pie you made and be thankful for the good in your life like me. Good day to you old man 🥰✌️

The little foil packs I made worked fine. Just enough smoke, I didn’t have to change them out before it was time to wrap it. My next challenge will be trimming the whole one rather than taking the easy way out of buying one trimmed. The whole ones were 6.99 lb for the prime ones but the trimmed one all trimmed and prettied up were 11.99 lb. The whole one took up the whole grocery cart bottom. I was afraid of trimming all that fat off. Just plain scared but I need to brave up…. There is a lot of fat on them whew. I’m gonna smoke something again. Maybe pork next. I know you have been cooking and prepping all day. Are you eating at home or going somewhere to eat (or both🤣🤣🤣) ?
anyways hope your day is sweet 🥰✌️

Evening folks! Back from Zaxby's with dinner, K's up from her nap, beer crack, and joint lit. Not much accomplished today except picking up a turkey breast and half a ham from Honey-baked. No plans for tonight, might watch football or knock off a piece.

peace

Look how big his scuppers are, I’ve never had a German Shepherd that had them as large as his. He’s also got webbed toes, which is a first for me. I believe I’m going to get a DNA test and find out exactly what his lineage may or may not be… my furry little meat missile is a riot to play with…😁
Bodhi had big scuppers, but none of our other shepherds have. Does Ivan drool a lot from his scuppers?

Years ago a close friend delivered propane to the local honey baked plant and they'd always load him up with 2nds grade hams that failed quality control. Hell he'd get 10 of them at a time. We got real spoiled getting a free ham for the hollerdays. He's gone now passed in June while I was getting my endovascular crippling job done. I cleared the hospital on the day of his service and got to say goodby. 8 years my junior. Damn I hate that.

Old friend.......
