Gawd. 84 today. History tend to pick my birthday to really fuck things up. The day I was born was the day of the single most concentrated attack on a British city in all history: Coventry.
Did I read that right....Walt's Birthday. Happy Birthday Walt. 84 years young. Most are 84 years old.....not Walt.

We defiantly need to send someone over for a week to your house to chew your food for you☝️
Well, I am pleased to announce that the outside temp at half past three this afternoon is 70F.

That is still scary, but not lethal. ;)

(*snork*) I note that the heat is still on. Beautywitch set the thingy to 77F. Fact.

Six pics and a video.

Gawd. 84 today. History tend to pick my birthday to really fuck things up. The day I was born was the day of the single most concentrated attack on a British city in all history: Coventry.

The Luftwaffe attack lasted an amazing 11 hours. It started over 600 fires, and coined of new term for obliteration: "Coventrated".

Then, of course, there's Dealey Plaza and the CIA.

On the plus side, The Flash and Green Lantern popped into existence on my birthday.
Happy 84th birthday brother Walt!

Glad you found us. Yup, there was quite a migration to this forum from the mud hole. The people left in charge didn't expect that to happen......mass exodus from what they though. Puts a smile on my face when I think about it. We had this thread going on over there with the same amount of activity. Now it's here and the mud hole is pretty much a shadow of what it was.

It feels a lot like the election that just took place.......place is nothing more than a fart in the wind to me.
The Internet has created a weird social dynamic. I've been one of the crowd that has gone through at least three different sites together... and we have never been face-to-face.

I've followed Big and Boo through sites that were essentially polluted by site managements. To be honest, I cannot even remember the names of them all.

All that said, it sure is a great group here. And as far as management is concerned... they're one of the gang.

The following is in aid of any of youse who get to live through a millennium (and into two centuries) -- or simply just reach 84 years of age.

At my age, the Internet acquires an importance beyond your current conception/understanding. Let me explain its important-to-everyone new phenomenon in human relations.

Figuratively, look around you now -- all those people your age that you see with your mind's eye... have passed away. They have all died.

You can still be reasonably fit, OK to drive, use a chainsaw, stuff like that. But no one else at all that you used to talk to, to interact with... no one this planet is left.

And then you find Intellect -- wonderful humans you would never had any chance on earth of meeting sans the Internet. Not face-to-face, but words and pictures and videos... You get to know these people while sometimes never being closer than thousands of miles.

SUMMARY: It makes a humongous difference to hang with my "ghost-friends" here.

Thoughts on 84 -- before I forget them 🧙‍♂️:rasta:

I was born Ready. But my Mom changed it to Waltie.

Found sumpin' descriptive from notes on the SE Asia Games: "Saigon streets looked French; there was always the odor of exotic food, human sweat, disease, and dirt."

Confession: I never fired my gun in anger. I did in fear, though.

We should ALL live every day as if it was our last -- someday it will be.

Lastly: Just this one night this week, I am gonna make sumpin' almost half-way as good as @SubGirl does every fargin night:

Weiner Schnitzel. <-- Gotta go beat some boneless oink chops to paper thinness...

Is that your house way up on the top there, OM?
Hope your days going good OMBC
I live in the valley bottom, no thanks to living high up. Your on your own when you get up the mountain, no snowplows, so you have to do your own plowing. I use to live at Christina Lake, village of 1000 people accept for the summer months then it can go up to 10,000 people. I lived on the top end of a new sub division. It took 5 days for a plow to get up there. That wasn't even real high up. I had a friends that lived high elevation, it's great in the non winter months but during winter it's a lot different. Many of the hippy nature or people who didn't want company. Most as they got older moved down to the valley.

My day is good, got most of my chores done. Need to soak 3 peat pucks plant 3 seeds. Supper is just reheating some chili. I'm going to be a slacker today and take it easy. Chewing on a piece of Jamaican Dream cookie right now. Things will look different in an hour.:)

Oh and the wife tested negative for covid today, she is on the mend, thank goodness.

Hope all is well in your life and you catch some ice when you go ice fishing.
