I am well diversified. And with what happened in the election I am going to buy bonds in an oil company. I can get 11% on a five year bond. I can't do it until April though. I have some $$ maturing on an annuity that I am dumping.

I am scared of bitcoin though. Slow and steady for me.....been that way since my late 20's when I started investing.

I am glad you are doing so well Big.....might get that Sail Boat you want after all....and you can afford a bigger boat with a crew.

As you should be.

I would think Trump will have his hands full with domestic issues for the near future, not to mention Ukraine, middle east, Tiawan, and North Korea.
Good day to you GW, hope all is well with family, furry and not.

Canada has been doing an inquiry into foreign interference with the final report to be out next month. All major parties have been influenced by outsiders. The government has not released names.

They say what countries are involved but not a lot of detail, maybe in December.
I'm thinking if it's happening here it's happening in many places.
It's unfortunate when the public can't trust their own elected officials.

Hurry up and go metric FFS!

MAMA... Make America Metric Again?

Edit - that FFS comes across as agressive, I love your inches. I was being jovial. ✌🏼
It ain't fair. When I wuz a kid, the fargin Brits had:

Groats, farthings, florins, guineas, pence, ha'pnees, sixpence, crowns, half-crowns, shillings, pounds...

And now they come on like Hatchet Mary to bust up the bar her momma built. It ain't even cheatin'-fair.

Is it a real fight?

I have not looked at their stats. Just naturally I would favor the younger person to win but Tyson knows how to land a punch and has experience.
I recall one boxer saying all he needed was a 1" punch to knock out an opponent, maybe it was Foreman.

here is one of those short left rights

Foreman had ko power

Unca Walt you would need a crew for that boat, but you could probably go pretty much anywhere. I wonder what the cost on upkeep would be?
You should talk with "big" regarding crew members, he would have a fine selection:)

I love sailing ships they are beautiful.
A buddy of mine was the captain of a mega-yacht. It cost -- WAIT. I know you are not going to believe this, but here goes:

To run the ship overnight would cost $45,000 in fuel. <-- Not a typo. If full speed was required, it cost $15,000 per hour in fuel alone.

I got to go on the thing with my Witch-Wife. The owner of the boat had left it at Treasure Island in the Bahamas (flew out and away to a party or something). Legally, there needed to be two more people on board for the ship to move.

So Herself and Unca got on the seaplane (which has since crashed) and got flown to the resort so we could be crew (lookouts required).

As I pilot, I was entranced and scared at the landing. The seaplane was still airborne, and we were about 100 yards from the fargin ramp/dock. KABLOOSH. Wow. Water makes a wonderful brake for an airplane.

That was my only seaplane landing.

I kind of like the metric system, the worst thing is trying to convert all the time, stick with one or the other.
Canada is caught between two systems. Because of the historical ties between Canada the U.S. and the U.K. we end up using both systems, it's crazy.

I like metric, the multiples of 10 make much of it pretty easy.
Our highway signs and weather reports are all metric.

Good day, Old Man and good wishes for you and yours as well!

I'm sure the US is trying to push our influence abroad, as are the other powers, as well as that money donors get preferential treatment all of those places.

I'm reminded of an old Sufi story where this renown Sufi Master and wise man was traveling and the people from a nearby village got wind that he was passing by and came out to meet him.

They threw a big gala and feast in his honor and after he was entertained and sated, the village elder stated that he had heard that the Sufi Master was all knowing and asked him to tell them of themselves as a demonstration.

The Sufi wiseman responded by describing in detail the affairs of the village, blowing the villagers away with his intimate knowledge.

The elder exclaimed, "How is it that you've never been here or met us, yet you know so much about us?"

The Sufi responded with, "I know nothing about your village or your villagers, but I do know a lot about mankind."

These days money is made out of thin air - nadda - nothing - and sent around the world digitally - to buy stuff - to pay people ect - they call it fiat currency - and the people that control all that - pretty much control me and you - to some degree or another - because their money is pretty much everywhere - and used - by us all to survive - in one way or another -

They even make coins out of thin air now - and bits of coins too -

That's a great little parable and it's meaning is clear.
