Me neither! I got a good night's sleep and sneaked up on them in the early morning
It's all In how it was prepared and how fast the cape comes off.
I ate some that was prepared fondu style weren't bad.
And their musk glands. I remove those right after cutting their throats and preparing them for transport to camp for hanging and skinning.

Attached are some of my Venison recipes that gets by the gammy flavor.
Our deer in Illinois are corn fed, used to put 3 in the freezer a year
Our Whitetails in Oklahoma agriculture areas were too, but the deer here in Oregon depend on where you get them.

Hello OM. Hope you are having a good day.

I just finished cutting the grass.....finally the grass is slowing down for the winter. I will be mowing the leaves into the soil for the next few weeks. Good nutrients in leaves. Most around here rake and bag.....I mow.
That's a great idea, free nutrients and some soil building qualities. Why waste them when they are right there for the use. Does your mower have a mulch cut?
