I hear most places charge a 1% fee to buy back from you. 5 to 8 % commission to buy it and 1% to sell it back.
Remember the movie Trading Places? When the brothers are explaining the commodity market? How the beauty of it was buy or sell, win or lose, they collect their fee.

Gold price is based on the spot price, plus their premium. When they sell to you, you pay over spot. When you sell to them, just under spot.

The other truism from trading places is that commodity brokers are EXACTLY like bookies!

Anybody have sweet tea lately? How about the Crisco in a coffee can in Granny's kitchen window?
That was usually bacon grease. When I was a small child, I reached up the stove to get at the top of a fryer and burnt my hands badly. I don't remember it, but my grandmother whipped the top off a new can of crisco and stuck both my hands in it. So.e old school burn remedy. I don't know, but I had second and third degree burns, docs didn't know if hands would be the same.

You can't even detect a sign of the burns at all.

We kept a can of bacon grease on the stove and used it before breaking out the Crisco.

Remember the Crisco parties of the 60's and early 70's?
