Inquisitive, how many years in this hobby does everyone have here?
Im talking growing now, Im at 45 years.

I acquired a seed one day in 1970. A bunny rabbit ate the plant when it was three inches tall. That was not my best:

About two? three? years ago, I entered the Bud Of The Month Contest with my 8-inch tall, nematode stunted, yellow, pencil-lead thin plant...

...that was later eaten, including the root dug up and eaten by wildies around the Sneakydicker Househole grounds.

So I have utterly failed to grow any weed since in the following 55 years...

My Mrs likes to use her electronics, including her electric book reader, she gets books from the local library over WIFI and other sources.

I’m taking an expectorant that helps dry me up, but that doesn’t help the throat too much… i’m astounded on how much mucus has come out of my head in the last day. When they say bedrest, they don’t tell you that your back is gonna be killing you for laying in bed all day… I met a gentleman from Kazakhstan last week and he reached out to me this morning and asked me if he could come up from Fort Myers which is 2 1/2 hours away and cook for me and help care for me. I don’t know this guy from a hole in the wall, but he seems like a very decent human being… that in itself gave me more faith in mankind… I appreciate all the well wishes, but I can assure you this is not going to take me out of the picture but for a few days and I’ll be back being my belligerent self…

formally educated growers here and some very experienced members make a good recipe for how to grow good weed

Good afternoon folks. I’m just now climbing out of my deathbed, I thought I wasn’t gonna make it through the night cause I couldn’t breathe and I was blowing my nose and hacking up phlegm. They say it takes a while to run its course with thankfully I’ve got a friend that came over with medicine for it and filled up my refrigerator so I wouldn’t go hungry.. I can’t for the life of me figure out where all that snot and flung comes from, but it seems like I have an endless supply…

Gargle with some strong salt water for your throat and keep drinking lots of water to flush that shit out boo

About 56 years and counting, hopefully!

1968-69 was the first year I grew an outdoor plant and continued to mainly grow outdoors into the 80s. I was obsessed with outdoor growing during the 70s and into the 80s. I did a few closet grows using florescent lights but that was mostly for fun and learning. It was when the 1000W Halides and HPS became available that indoor growing took over for outdoor.
Wester Water Farms(WWF) in Vancouver was the first business to sell these type of lights Ed Muckle was the man behind WWF business. My buddy and I did a very long day to drive to the coast buy our lights and drive back. It was like a 13 hr day. These lights in combination with Skunk seeds...it was a new ballgame.

In the very early days of outdoor growing most people had no idea quality flowers could be grown locally. You could tell people anything you wanted to. We were fortunate in the sense... I found seeds inside a chunk of hash that I brought from Ontario to BC those seeds proved to flower early and have a strong hashish flavor to them. Their good genetics carried over.
The seeds from the hash were nothing like the long flowering Mexican and other similar type sativa strains.
I ended up with a final strain after doing some crossing we called Paki, it was tasty, powerful and grew without problems. It was a perfect plant for mountain growing. It wasn't until buyers started looking at outdoor buds with magnifiers and or counting glands and the demand declined like ice cream in the hot sun.

What I always found funny was the indoor never did match the best Columbian, Asian and quality Mexican etc. The indoor was good but never had the nuances of exotic cannabis.

A friend asked if I wanted to try a smoke with him...he got out a bag of brownish-golden fist size flower buds, after smoking a small joint, it was almost like mushrooms. I have smoked some very good indoors but never has indoor had that super powerful almost psychedelic experience.
Usually for me a strong indoor is strong in strength but lacks the high and nuances of well grown outdoor.
To each their own.

I would like to try growing outdoor plants but it is impossible because of my location. If I still had my cabin there was a perfect place to try it but it is no longer part of my life. So, I will have to keep on doing my thing in the basement.
