eight weeks into flower ... i have reached the sweet spot. i can take samples as i wait for the crop to finish. also for trichome check: got a new microscope with 2" digital display for $30 on Prime - one day delivery. very nice.

quick microwave dry @ 50% power 2 minutes on each side.

2x Blue Dream and 2x Bruce Banner

they both appear to be winners. looks like 4 oz per plant, i.e. 2x qt mason jar per plant.

i have 1x C99 and 1x Sour Diesel idling in the Veg Box - banging their heads against the top of the 4' cab - soon, girls, soon it will be your time, too.

then back to the seeds - got a fresh bunch waiting to be grown. looking forward to the Lambs Bread and more C99. spouse wants some CBD. i was gifted some jamaican bag seeds from a destination weeding several years ago - best weed i have ever grown, then lost it after many clones. taught me the importance of genetics. what a world of difference good seeds provide.

my pledge to myself is to not die if the jars aren't empty ... must keep growing, must keep growing

how to make edible pot decarbing
To make edible cannabis by decarboxylating (decarbing) it, follow these steps:
Materials Needed:
  • Cannabis (marijuana)
  • Oven-safe baking sheet or dish
  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Oven
  • Grinder or scissors (optional)
  • Airtight container for storage
Steps for Decarboxylation:
  1. Preheat Your Oven:
    • Set your oven to 220-240°F (105-115°C). Lower temperatures for a longer time help preserve more of the terpenes and cannabinoids.
  2. Prepare the Cannabis:
    • Break down or grind the cannabis. You don’t need a fine grind, but breaking up the buds ensures even heating. Use a grinder or simply tear it apart with your hands or scissors.
  3. Line the Baking Sheet:
    • Use parchment paper or aluminum foil to line your baking sheet or dish. This makes cleanup easier and prevents sticking.
  4. Spread Out the Cannabis:
    • Spread the cannabis evenly across the lined baking sheet. The layer should be thin to ensure even decarboxylation.
  5. Bake the Cannabis:
    • Place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for about 30-45 minutes. Check it occasionally:
      • Around 30 minutes, you should start to smell a strong marijuana scent, which indicates decarboxylation is happening.
      • The cannabis should not turn very dark; it should be a slightly darker green than when you started. If it's brown or black, it's overcooked.
  6. Cool Down:
    • Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool completely. The cannabis will become brittle and can crumble easily when it's cool, which is ideal for infusion.
  7. Store Properly:
    • Once cooled, transfer your decarbed cannabis into an airtight container. Store it in a cool, dark place to preserve potency.
Infusing into Edibles:
  • Melt Your Medium:
    • Use butter, oil, or another fat-based substance. Heat gently on the stove or in a double boiler.
  • Add Decarbed Cannabis:
    • Stir in the decarbed cannabis. For every gram of cannabis, use about 1 cup of fat if you want a strong infusion.
  • Infuse Over Low Heat:
    • Keep the temperature low (around 160-200°F or 70-95°C) to avoid burning off the THC. Simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Strain:
    • Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove the plant material from the fat, squeezing to get all the infused oil out.
  • Cool and Use:
    • Allow your infused fat to cool before incorporating it into recipes. Remember, edibles take time to affect you, so dosage should be approached cautiously.
Safety Tips:
  • Dosage: Start with a small amount to gauge potency. Remember, decarbed cannabis can be much stronger than non-decarbed in edibles.
  • Label: Clearly label your cannabis-infused products to avoid accidental ingestion.
This process activates the THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) in cannabis, making it psychoactive when consumed in edibles. Enjoy responsibly!
