It was 1996 when I took an introductory computer course at the community college and bought my first of 4 computers. Mostly for internet surfing. When returning to college in 1999-2000 I had to take several computer classes(if you don't use it, you lose it). After college I used my computer for developing my educational programs. Thank goodness no one asked me to do math of an engineers abilities. I would have called in sick:)

Hello and a very good day to you GW
I went to computer school right out of the Army 1981, learning to program IBM 360's using punch cards.

Yeah I'm that old

When I was coming up, there was no such thing as cell phones or a computer .if we had a Texas Instruments calculator, we thought we were hot shit… I started my business two years after I got out of college in ‘76 and never took the time to look back… when I finally sell my office building, I will be completely and thoroughly done with the last 40 years…

Good morning folks
wittle cold and breezy
thinking of tape over me nipples for a first line of defense

Are you sure you want to tape up, cause taking it off🪒😧 short on hair follicles for the head but what about your chest. When I had my heart tested and they put those contacts on my chest, ouch.

A very good day to you

My first wife worked in the computer dept at the university in the very late 60s into early70s. The computer dept was down in the basement and it was very cool in there. They used those punch cards your mentioning.
I guess these days your phone would have more capabilities than those hulking punch card computers.

I didn't want to bring up that you were old:)

I saw a girl drop a stack of punched cards. She cried.
Same computer that the Space Shuttle used for calculations at my little college.
I was trained in basic, Cobal, and Fortran. Threw in a little Unix when I was a sysadmin.

dunno, I've run a few scenario's around in my head and have gotten no closer to an answer than when the thoughts began...I'd love to travel after buying a nice motorcoach or trailer but my desire to drive for weeks on end are not how I'd like to spend most of my time...don't have any needs so the door is wide open for options/discussions...Ivan will be by my side so that has to be figured into the plan...one thing is for certain, no boats...been there done that too many times...

K's been wishy-washy about dinner. We're going to Long-Street. i told her I was getting chicken but might switch it up to keep things interesting.

Waiting on her and Kash to get back from picking up butter and bread and filling up the Mustang.

peace

One of my teachers worked for Unisys. He explained how one day we would have a small device (cellphone), maybe wearable (iwatch) that would allow us to communicate and access information, anywhere in the world instantly.

Nothing worse than dropping on the floor a 400 punch card program you wrote in assembler language.

In order for it to work it had to be in the correct sequence and undamaged.

I have been struggling to answer that question since 09.
😆
Turns out I seem to like hanging out with the dogs and growing weed mostly.
Don't like traveling much anymore either and sure love my waterbed.

my physical therapist saved me from two operations

physical therapy , acupuncture , and a healthy diet for the win
The surgeon saved me from surgery when he said it would be too dangerous to have the surgery.
My Mrs likes to go for acupuncture, she has been doing appointments for some time now. She says it works well for her and always falls to sleep during the appointment.

Hey @oldmaninbc haven't talked to you in a while. Hope things are doing well. Heard you say the wife left you alone for the day, you do anything cool?
Seems I found my mom's sister and father through ancestrydna.com She was adopted. She's not really talking about it.
Made money dog walking this past week. Got Mom Chanel No 5 and an antique sprayer thing with the squeeze ball.
I've been smoking the Local Skunk bubble hash at 80% from Nature's Heritage for a few weeks and I hit a tolerance peak...so I smoked some 50% GMO kief. It was okay. Different effect, more cerebral. Which I love. I love cerebral flower. Might be growing something interesting I just have to research. A haze would be nice. Malawi Haze or something.
Have a good evening friend 🎄👍
