Evening folks. Two days from work. Ya ya.
Wife went to hospital to see her Memaw. She quit talking and doesn’t acknowledge anyone. I think she’s about had her run, I got to stay home with the kids.
I’ve seen too many people for the last time this year. I am selfishly relieved to have a reason to stay home.

In case folks don't know...

If you have POA, that dies with the patient. The will takes precedence after death.

If they stop eating/drinking don't force it. Let them. The body is shutting down. Feeding only prolongs the inevitable. Some say it's painful for the body?

Death is not pretty. Lots of herky jerky goes on as the body shuts down. They give morphine (roxanal) orally to smooth the transition. In days of yore the Dr. would 'boost' them into the next world.

Also, if there is a DNR in place and the staff wants to send them to the hospital DO NOT allow it because the DNR will not supersede and 'DO NO HARM' will happen - meaning they'll hook 'em up to machines to keep them alive.
