There you can see how dense it is, the overflow tube left a straight hole through the root mass. Not too much hydroton visible, is there?
hey i had the same toilet grow idea jk kidding I see it was a bucket but anyways. Get a clean new throne and replace the seat with a lid. Mix up some nuts in the tank and bowl. Drop an air stone in the bowl and your ready to grow. When it's time to change the water just pick up the lid high enough to keep roots from being flushed/sucked down the toilet then push the flush handle and bam water change done.
This picture is from my current aeroponic grow. Note the airiness of the roots. And that each root is made up of fishbones. Note the fuzzies all over the fishbones which makes them look like pipecleaners.
It is only when roots look like this that the maximum amount of nutrients can be utilized in the shortest period of time.
To achieve these type roots, they must hang in air (hence Aeroponics) and be misted with nutrients at >50 psi pressure
