Yeh I can confirm budrot = budzilla on uk420.com. His results with fytocell (and others on the forum), have been most impressive - combining simplicity with rapid growth.

Budrot, icmag employs similar security mechanisms to uk420. Servers are hosted in the netherlands and IPs are kept for a short a duration as possible before being wiped. Also given the fact this is mostly an american forum, I'd say it's even safer than uk420 in that respect =).

I'm about to conduct a hempy bucket grow with fytocell, using modified air pots. Air pots encourage greater root development due to air pruning of the roots, see here for more info: http://www.progrow.co.uk/acatalog/info_5019.html

It's really simple, but I thought I'd post up how I modified them:

First off, you will need: silicon sealant, air pots, some bin bags and some cable ties.

picture.php

I then filled the air holes just under 2 inches from the bottom with sealant and let this dry overnight, so it was fully water proof. I then cut out a circular piece of bin bag, and use the cable tie to make it into a base (I also used the base that comes with the air pots, just to take some of the weight of the medium off the bin bag).

picture.php

I then put another, larger piece of bin bag over the base, covering the silicon sealant holes too. This thus makes the next row of air holes the drainage holes.

picture.php

I then tested this with some water and it worked, no leaks unless I filled it above the drainage holes.

picture.php

Next I added the fytocell and it could take the weight of that too.

picture.php

Lastly, I added water to the pot and it could take the weight of that too. Only leaked if I filled above the drainage holes =)

picture.php

As you can see it's very simple to do. I expect the more skilled DIYers on the forum can do something a bit more advanced, like gluing a a disc of plastic to the bottom, making a more secure base. I've had mine sitting about for about 12 hours now and no complaints though - but only time will tell!

Any thoughts or criticisms are welcome =)

wouldn't just setting the airpot filled with fytocell in a small drip tray with some water/nutes do the same thing? not to be a negative Nancy just seems overly complicated. granted you can pack them a little closer your way.

just done some side by sides coco v fyto hempys they finished about even but the fyto had three weeks veg the coco had four. I will use fyto from now on as it is a third of the weight which makes disposal easier. Not very user friendly though.

Do any of you guys use beneficial's in your Hempy's like White Shark?
Also,
do any of you use a sweetner like Floralicious?

Thanks!

I don't...I did...use to use GH 3 part along with Liquid Karma, Seaplex, and Sugar Daddy. I began using the Maxibloom with epsom salt only and have no difference in outcome...except for dollars saved.

I will say this guys, I have been using just perlite now for about 5 times around, and has been very easy to maintain. I was also doing it for a type of a control, so the soil would be the same time and time again. I then started trying all the different kinds of nutes out there, after trying all the major ones, I tried something called Holland Secret. These are the best nutes I have ever tried! I don't have even half the problems I used to have, in fact, I don't have any issues any more. So if you can find this stuff get and use it! I'm very sure that you won't be disappointed with them at all!

Graham-I use 1tsp of each (MB & ES) it should be noted that I am on a deep rock well...not on city water where you may not need the Epsom salt. Hope this helps.

FWIW...one strain I run doesn't do as well in veg with the MB. Yesterday I picked up some maxi-grow to use on these in veg to see if they improve. It's odd to me how just one strain so far hasn't taken to well to the MB. Once the ugly bugger was placed in bloom, it went off and produced real nice smoke. I'm sure the weight was diminished due to the issues in veg, but you never could have told otherwise. Best wishes.

Yeah, that could work too - though then you have to deal with light hitting the roots, which they don't like and also the possibility of algal growth in the rez as a result.

I made up some more hempy air pots and this time I didn't even bother with the silicone sealant - just one large circular piece of bin bag, two cable ties to secure it and boom - job done! So it is really simple.

My last crop were all males, but they were vegged for a good 5 weeks and there was no issues whatsoever using the hempy air pots =)

I'm away from home now, but i'll post some pics up showing some pretty root spectacular growth in fytocell. With regards to the sure to grow stuff, I'm not sure sorry I've only ever seen it called fytocell

One of the local enterprises have recently started to produce similar material.
In contrast to STG, which was announced that it is made of PET, this is made from thermally bonded structured polyester fiber.
I germinate the seeds of tomatoes in cubes of the material.

picture.php

For germination, it looks very fit, but for future growth seems to be too elastic.
It seems to me that unlike perlite it will not be able to keep a plant without additional framing support.

So... apparently I miss labeled a flat of plants 4 weeks ago and after flipping the tester plant and finding it to be male, I culled the wrong cuttings a month ago. I now have almost a flat of sausages. Good times.

Ouch, sorry to hear that dub. Keep your head up, you will be back on top in no time.

Peace brother.

Lesson learned! The best way to avoid this is to label the cuttings as soon as your done taking them....and doing one strain at a time. I took two donors and got them mixed up, but I'm pretty sure that the situation is resolved. Thanks again.
