just to keep the coco moist, once it dried out in a big tote mixed with perlite, i guess it would be ok. just put in a 5G for xplant then re hydrate. But i think im just going to soak a chunk as needed.

So.....I've got yet another question for all you like minded folks....I've got two plants. Same age (cuttings about 3 weeks into veg) both planted in 5gal. buckets, both are in an 80-20 perlite/verm mix. Both under t5's. One's getting GH 3 part (1/4 strength + LK + Sweet. The other is getting a guano tea (10-2-1) & bubbled molasses.
{I should note, that both plants get fed 12oz. every other day}
The #1 is growing fast as hell with more leaves. The #2 is growing, but not nearly the same rate. Should I increase the amount of tea I'm feeding, increase the frequency or are the GH nutes just plain stronger? Any help is always appreciated.

GH nutes are going to run faster b/c it has complete nutrition requirements (n-p-k-micro nutes). Although finished product will have good fast yield it may not finish w/ the robust flavor you're after. You can add bat guano and molasses (read carbohydrate) to any nute set to improve flavor and yield.

bucket #2 is struggling b/c it isn't receiving all it needs. Try an organic (earth juice) or semi organic (fox farms) fertilizer with the additives you're currently running and yield and vigor should improve. Organic anything will always take longer but if its head stash, why not? Thats part of why you grow in the first place.

GH Flora Europe vs US?

GH Flora Europe vs US?

Just for info:

I found out that Flora series is different here in Europe than in US so those feeding instructions in the beginning of this thread are not applicable for European version of Flora. Instead GH suggests this basic formula (PDF):

http://www.eurohydro.com/pdf/tabs/gb/fs-aero.pdf

Best way to feed is of course to learn to see it from the plants what they need.

Status 1st hempy grow:
I've got 4 hempy buckets going at the moment under just 205w of CFLs (1 x 125w 2700K, 45w 5000K and 35w 5000K). One of them is about to finish (1-2 weeks more) and 2 are in the stage of 2 weeks into flowering and one went to flowering just today.

They are not doing great, but they are doing ok - it has been very easy after I solved pH and feeding problems (caused by stupidity). No problems except more light would be good - should have bought that 250w hps...

Nevertheless I am going to yield about 10 grams of dry from that first hempy bucket that is nearly done so it will already pay back the "investment" for all procured materials and other costs.

Hempys are cheap, easy and effective so thanks Dalai for the information and whoever originally made this greatest invention since soap.

That sounds good. A little moisture retention in the root ball 'eh. It will let let you turn off the pumps when the in-laws come over.

ok...need opinions....

ok...need opinions....

ph problems again! i need to flush again cuz ph is upwards of 7-7.5! im using floranova grow with silica blast. the floranova is very dirty nutes, meaning it leaves a lot of residue in the jugs i mix it in so im thinking it builds up quick in the buckets. has anyone using these nutes have the same problem? i did a side by side comparison using floranova grow in one and flora 3 part in the other and the floranova grew a little slower but much much stronger so i stuck with floranova. but now im thinking of using the three part flora series after the flush. any opinions? thoughts? advice? hell, anything is welcome! thanx in advance.......tinman :dunno:

FNB I dont check any PH and I don't have any problems..

Do your girls look sick or something? What prompted you to go check the PH?

I'll guess for carbohydrates. Sounds like he's moving towards organic gardening one baby step at a time. After my first year of growing I found myself going that direction as well. I settled at semi-organic b/c I use RO H2O and needed more cal/mag (It's added in fox farms) during production and phosphorus (kool bloom- only a tad) to finish before flush.

happy is right. I am trying different avenues to get the best outcome. I bubble 5 tsp of molasses and 5 tsp of guano w/ 5 gal of water. I started using the molasses in place of sugar daddy and noticed no ill effects on my peppers. I've been running peppers in waterfarms for a couple of years now and about 6 months ago I began experimenting. I've found that I use a little more molasses to accomplish my point, but the point gets met and it is much cheaper.
Happy-I fed yesterday and used the guano tea (1/2 strength) along with the 3 part...so we'll see how well it works or if I need to reduce all the levels and build back up.
As always, thanks for your very informative assistance.

forgot to mention...the reason for bubbling is to allow the molasses to become more usable with my medium...it would make an awfull mess if I simply poured the molasses into the medium.

You'll never burn anything with bat poop. If you see stress in your plants dial back on the 3-part.

GH nutes are fairly stable and dont go through wild ph swings. Thats why they are an industry standard in green house production of food crops. I stopped using it because of nutrient build-up (chalking in water tank) and wanted to experiment in organics.

Thats been nearly 10 years ago and I never regreted it. Keep up the good work dubwise.

yeah, they look to be getting a mag def again. my thought is this....the gh floranova one part nutes are real "dirty" that is to say it leaves a residue. it seems to be much more than gh flora three part nutes. im thinking that the salts have loaded up to the point i have lockout. i can fix that with flushing but i would like to keep from having to deal with it all the time and am thinking of just going to flora three part again. along with bat guano and mollasses. i try to keep ph at 6 so i was thinking of flushing with ro water at a ph of 6 till runoff is at 6 and then feeding with the gh flora three part. the floranova drops my ph quite a bit so i have to ad ph up every time i feed witch is every two days.the girls dont like too much so im at about 1/4 strength. the strain is super skunk, and black domina. and some sort of bag seed we call jane doe. smells a lot like garlic when its in flower! but is killer weed! also im using white buckets and wonder if that has anything to do with my problem. all the plants in darker colored buckets are ok,just the ones in white buckets are lookin sad. what do ya think?

yeah, happy,im using foxfarm tigerbloom with kool bloom on the girl i have in flower (she is three years old!) and the buds are off the hook! im using 4 tsp. of tiger with 2 tsp of kool bloom and she looks great. she is the one we call jane doe. the trich production is huge compared to what it was when i used floranova bloom and am hoping quality is better also. looks like yeild is gonna be good too.i start flushing next week and harvest on or about the 2 of feb.what semi organics are you using in veg?
dub, what medium are you using and how long do you bubble the guano and mollasses? im thinkin of semi organics as well but want to start out slow like dubwise. any suggestions as to what nutes are simple but good? simple is why i went to hempys and dont want to complicate things any more than i have to.

so,dub, after you make your five gals of guano molasses tea, do you water with that or do you mix it with other nutes and then feed? example: 2 tsp flora grow 1tsp micro 1 tsp bloom and 1 tsp guano/molasses tea per gal. or do you just feed tea str8? i hope im making sense as im stoned as hell! my only day off since the week before x-mas!
