your not alone in your opinion mate, didn't see taste criteria in the contest but i coulda missed it though.

I believe folks who maintain that opinion of soil vs. hydro are telling the truth; however dont understand the nature of nutrient uptake at the root and plant metabolism. The confound i believe is that perhaps soil growing gives a better result for those who have soiled dialed, and with hydro, they dont have it dialed and produce a less optimal result.

I grow all ways and believe a well grown, flushed, and finished plant is gonna taste like it is genetically predetermined to. sorry to jack the thread - feel free to post to my page if you want to set me straight, hehehe (not a troll req, but I am open to discussion)

Thats str8. I have never grown hydro my self but I have smoked plenty of hydro chronic and it just never tasted quite as good as some good ol mother earth grown chronic. I see where your coming from....hydro is uptaking same nutes and such....I just think mother earth gives something that water and artificial nutes cant. But ya...that comment sounded kinda assish and I didn't intend it to be that at all. It was just a random stoned comment:lol:

I haven't been on this forum for months, but I think I have a submission for the "one square foot contest".

Strains: Master Kush, Sadhu
Light: 150w HPS, germ to chop
Soil: FFOF
Nutes: Nothing but FF grow big and tiger bloom.
Water: Distilled, from the grocery

Germ/Veg: 28 days
Flower: 63 days
Feed Schedule: Alternate feed/water every 3 days, no exceptions

Style: Absolutely NO training, topping, molesting, playing music to them, etc...

Result: Not sure, estimate 3 oz. dry

Are you saying I'm using old photos for this contest thread? The picture you pulled from my archive shows completely different plants. Like, plants with a lot more branches, for one thing.

As you can see above I screwed up the lineup for the third row when doing the row compilation. I switched the first 2 plants in row three for the shot.

I finally got the clones going. I will officially start next weekend. All super frosty Speed Queens. I'll be using the best 16 out of the bunch. Hope all goes well from here on out. I'm trying a new mix so we'll see.

I screwed up and pushed the watering too far. The parts of the tops of a couple plants got burned/dried out. None of the plants were touching the lights, but the closeness of a couple colas to the lights combined with lack of water in the soil caused this to happen.

Cabinet = Server case 24" deep X 8.5" wide X 24" tall 1.41 sq feet
Lights = 3 X 55w PL-L T5 biax 165 watts
Grow media = Aeroponics GH 3 part nutes
Grow style = Scrog
Strain = white widow X OG kush

That's going to be a real tight canopy, what size are the holes? Hope she yields good for ya.

The holes are 1 inch, see them up against the 2" net pots. I was hoping for a tight canopy since I am working in a tight space. As for yield who knows, I am a light smoker so quality is more important than quanity. Ofcours,e for the challenge, I hope to get 2 Z's out of this experiment.

blynx, can you help me out by letting me know what soil and nutes you are using cause im planning on a setup close to yours and if you could give me a feeding schedule? also did you do 12/12 or did you go through the 18/6,16/8,then 12/12/ all and any help is greatly needed thanks.....Frosted
