Cut the bagseed I was growing down at day 86! Here is a picture of her at day 76:

LnoGucg.jpg

She went through some serious stress towards the last few weeks. My pH meter broke but I didn't realize it, so I was giving a really inconsistent feeding regime towards the end. I also noticed I had her way too close to the lights, which caused some burning of the bud leaves and browning in some spaces. Otherwise, everything ~5 inches or further from the lights did great!

Cut and trim:

Today is 6 days after cut, and the weight is 42.9 grams! The smell still smells leafy and like fresh-cut weed. Nothing special, which is why this seed isn't a keeper. But getting about 1g/w is what we all want! I bet I can get a better result in here next time with a new ph meter, I'm willing to bet I lost a few grams to stress.

So here's a pic of some nugs going into the jars (warning: crappy lighting)

As you can see, there is a bit of stress showing. Browning spots, wispy structure, and underdeveloped calyxes. But for the weight delivered, I'm more than happy with this experiment!

I'll add another contestant in this thread soon.

i try 10 days at least, if climate allows

10 days hanging?? Wow, that's a long time, even here in the PNW! I always get afraid of mold at that point.

My 2 weeks after hanging dry usually involve burping the jars a few times a day. Maybe I'll try going a few extra days with some of my flower next cycle to see if it makes a difference.

Sidequestion on the rules:

Whats about LED? Would 100W be in order to the rules?
First look did not give me many examples on the use od LED for the callenge.
I´m planing to create a cabinet according to the rules and try different kinds of lights to compare results for a minature Growbox.

Greetings!

Super harvest man! i use e27 Leds too.
G/W ratio (for what it can maen) is always good but I also had stress issues on the buds like you.
Maybe is the distance from the light? too much light?
Idk but, finally weed was good, so not really an issue for me. :rasta:

I suspect it's both a proximity issue and a general heat issue. My temps were peaking at 86F. The not-so-top nugs had decent coloration still, so maybe 6 inches is a good distance.

I'll wait til the fall to do another run in this little cab.

kind of random (but not really)

osram has off the shelf LED globes
18W 5000K
packaged as "100w" 5000K

sillyhead, the rubbermaid 18gal with the 10 gal stacks can be an alright mother chamber. the carbon scrubber can be built right into a top 10gal container. nestled/made from a 3gal container.

i've been having the idea of putting 3W full spectrum LEDs on low profile heatsinks on the

sides of rubbermaid container walls, like 10 per box 2 on each narrow wall and 3 on each

longer one. also, the idea of using them on those small heatsink fan combos that are made

for 3W LEDs and putting them on flexible AWG solid copper cable, so they are repostionable for

getting inside thick untrimmed sub-canopy. the electrical cable would have to be wrapped or loosely, with slack, tethered to/around the garden wire (silicone coated garden wire cable) and all connected to the

looks like same fan here, and is listed as * Rated Voltage:12 V DC

* Rated Current: 0.08 ±0.01Amp

at these two

bingo link is probably better

initial cost may seem high, but for the efficiency, and the replaceablility (like in 5 years, a new batch of fans and chips and power supplies, but the expensive heatsink is a non needing renewing investment),

https://www.google.com/search?q=garden+wire images

or test out AWG copper wire flexibility vs stiffness at home depot (i didn't do this yet)
i thought that maybe the garden wire was made to be bended more, back and forth, without breaking but i'd guess the AWG copper wire (solid, not strand) would be better for accessibility and it's wire on hand if you do need it)

i think this may be really effective because of the mean square law. every cola and part where it is needed can be focused on, just outside the burn zone with doctor octopus arms, basically.

I'm bringing Boleman back! Meet the Oaktwenty

I picked up this little Oakley display case on the cheap and built another amazing #boleman #microgrow

Come along for the ride and see what we can push this case to.

More pics to come!
