Below is a response, in its entirety, to the question of "nation wide MMJ".
=====================================================
Dear Friend,

Thank you for contacting Obama for America to inquire about the Senator's
position on allowing severely ill patients to use marijuana for medical
purposes.

Many states have laws that condone medical marijuana, but the Bush
Administration is using federal drug enforcement agents to raid these facilities
and arrest seriously ill people. Focusing scarce law enforcement resources on
these patients who pose no threat while many violent and highly dangerous drug traffickers are at large makes no sense. Senator Obama will not continue the
Bush policy when he is president.

Thank you again for contacting us.

Sincerely,

Obama for America

Now, let me read into that. It is a very safe and politic response. If he does as he promises then that would at least give the "unlucky" states a glimmer of hope should they try to pass MMJ. One reason for a state to not bother with MMJ is that the Feds just tear up the operations in the "rogue" states. Not much use for me, but it takes things in the right direction.

WOW.

I doubt McCain would say the same.

BUT, I want to hear it from the HORSES (Obama himself) mouth before I punch my card.

I am an Obama supporter and booyah to you for asking the question. I hope they mean what they say but during an election year I trust no one. If you have the time try writing something in negative about MJ and see if they respond by patronizing you again then we will see how they truly stand.

Obonga may very well be Pro-Marijuana, but the rest of his agenda would make me feel like I had Whored myself out--

That is about the maximum a candidate could say about the subject and still get elected. We have a clear choice, weed is for voters, do not share weed with non voters.

VERY good point. I talked to one guy this last weekend who does not vote, but wanted to know if I could get weed anywhere. Well, I will regretfully inform him that my dealer back in my home town was unable to get any of the killer bud from his guy in California. Yup. Sorry dude, completely dry.

:fsu: :badday: :nono: :fsu: :badday: :nono:

and raise the budget for christ sake!

why not he has a vested monitary intrest in continuing the 'war on drugs' i mean, he owns giant stakes in companies that supply all the armed DEA and agents doing anti-mmj raids.

im down for lower taxes, but republicans cant even do that correctly these days (bush raised more taxes then any other prez)

I see the situation like this, Obama recognizes that MMJ is legal in some states and as so he wont actually confront the situation with the federal agencies who have raided MMJ dispensaries and hold them accountable. The situation will probably never see the light of day and DEA and the likes will still do as they please, just as they always have.

Most people don't realize it yet.

Federal courts have ruled, on 8/20, that the DEA is violating the United States Constitution in CA by raiding clinics.

The state AG, Jerry Brown, just yesterday ordered law enforcement within CA not to help enforce federal law.

It's over. That part of the fight is over.

I think this may be over before you could move.

The house of cards is caving in.

Yeh the ole double standard in the USA. I never understood how everyone could turn a blind eye to the double standard of MMJ states vs NON MMJ states.

I know that the punishments have to be a little different in the MMJ states vs the NON MMJ states for casual growers and users. I mean it seems to me that you all have a built in defense card that you can pull that gives you some sort of leniency. While the rest of us have to suffer accordingly. It just sux is all and will continue to suck unless we decriminalize completely.

Peace

I've said this before, but Obama is pro-seriously ill people, he's not pro-marijuana at all.
