The new space....different method.

I'm starting all over again in the same room (thinking out side the box) this time......I have 2 grow boxes I built that i probably will give away if some one wants them for next to,nothing.....they are 5 feet tall and 4 feet long.....and 2 and 1/2 feet wide each.

My plan this time if I can get my hybrid seeds to grow which are a mixture of all the parents u see in the bottom of all my posts.....I want around 6 to 8 mother plants that I can veg for how ever long you guys recommend for the best yield.....I'm gonna be using 3 gallon tall square pots and 2 5 gallon buckets obbt style.....

I'm just wondering since im only gonna have the one room....does any one know a good way of sexing the plants.....I know some will say should just wait and they will show eventually but i don't wanna waste resources on males......yet.

Also I plan to take clones for the next grow so I don't have to start from seed.....and I was wondering where I could put those when the mothers start the flower cycle?

I may have to use one of my boxes.......but its not exactly light proof.....and i don't want no hermie females so how could I work this?

Thanks for any ideas......I need all the help I can get.....i wanna keep it simple this time......with stock to start another grow when these ladies are done.

Also i want my plants tall.....but I'd like them very bushy also......any tips for this would help.

Ok. a couple of options here.

Option #1 (my preference): Take cuttings of each of your plants and label them so you don't get confused. Put those cuttings under 12/12 for a week or two until you see sex characteristics. Now you know the sex of the plant you made the cutting from. Now you can get rid of the males and throw the femmes into flower. (You can keep those cuts and reveg them for the next round, or keep a small cut of a male around so you have one if you ever want to make seeds.)

Option #2: You can throw all your plants into 12/12 now and get rid of the males when they appear. At the end of your harvest, you can leave the roots in the soil and leave a little bit of the harvested plant attached to those roots. You can put that stalk back under 18/6 for a month and make sure to keep watering it and it'll eventually revert back to veg and you'll have a viable mom or you can reflower it again.

Also I plan to take clones for the next grow so I don't have to start from seed.....and I was wondering where I could put those when the mothers start the flower cycle?

You could easily use one of your boxes as a veg chamber so that your clones can grow while they're waiting for the flower room to be ready.

As far as light proofing... maybe... do it? I can't see what your box looks like or what your light proofing issue is... but there are many ways to make a box light-tight.

Maybe you should explain your setup in more detail. I.e. lights, space, # of plants, etc. Easier to make suggestions when you're not shooting in the dark.

Pics get people to pay more attention to your threads. FYI.

Good luck!

Consider growing outdoors. A lamps power decreases by half every 6 inches. Your space calls for a 400 watt lamp. Effective penetration will be about 18". For indoor growing consider SOG, LST or ScrOG. While these will severely limit plant height, they'll increase yield and avoid airy popcorn.
