It descends from the original GH 97 NH line, which in my opinion will be alot more original than the modern version Mrn offers.

I removed the 97 so not to cause more confusion.

Lemon Outback Haze comes from Dwight.

This will likely ruffle feathers, but…

Keeping the “97” reference is important knowledge, IMHO. Almost every post I’ve read across multiple forums over the years would say current and “old” NH are not the same.

Edited out my Shanti reference as I realized these were Green House/GH.

I have a couple lemon outback going and will know more soon. I really like Dwights selection process and insights. I imagine OJD and I are 50 or so. Basically we were popping pimples while Dwight and Nevil were involved with the Cannabis Castle. That level of context and experience is worth leaning in on imo.

MM x NH didn't work to preserve the refine 'classy' profile Nevil sought.

It goes without saying and is a well understood problem that for all the of A/C profile perfection it is easily buried, lost or altered in crosses. MM x NH is redundant in effect and potency by all accounts so nothing lost there selection aside.

They share similar parental lines. MM has a very distinctive profile. Obviously it will alter NH. That was the whole point of a muted NL profile aside from manageability, but then lost the effect and ultimately profile as well

After reviewing Kanga's work and some cross referencing of results one would generally expect the MM with increased Calyx to leaf ratio of NH as well as a more open and sprawling frame for uniform light penetration and node spacing. (In the best examples). It would be unrealistic to expect a NH preservation from this cross. Nevil said as much, but observation, research logic and reason lead to the same conclusion.

The crosses OJD and Dwight currently provide are in one way or another returning the lines to the hybridization before Nevil went through the holy grail process to restore haze.

The best case scenario is either one of them has a sound male A and/or C in an Ohaze status. One that they are now using as a parental parent for their own versions of what was originally done by going out to NL5 in the first place. From a breeder perspective it can become a little murky because NL is still in there and can lock onto and be resurrected in the cross.

This is a way of protecting their selections or art from reproduction. This is legitimate. Some may do it for profit or market control, but there is also the perspective of curation.

There is a tremendous amount of work and personal process that goes into development. Some may just want their other art to be enjoyed rather than their selection and work as an immediate shortcut. That can feel invasive. Particularly if this genetics are selected and released by another.

At best such a second hand release may be a poor example do to a different selection process. At worst they are total hacks. In either example the world now has a poor impression of the original art and artist through the knockoff.

There are exceptions to outback return to hybrid. Dwight has went to Viet and others, but just doesn't go to much effort to market anything. I recently bought some exciting work from him. I asked if he wanted me to put the work out and he said no. Just let it happen naturally.

Anyway. Apples to apples would probably be OJD's Outback x Sssssd since it already has Nevil's haze on both sides like Silk

I'll have flower from the 7 testers of Outback Silk. Tom and I are swapping jars to roll on the same page. I can provide flower for this comparison and pictures of the plants in Marchish.

Dwight and I discussed the possibilities of availability with this work in some form, but it would be premature until we go through the whole process together. Go from there

I also offered cuts of Alpine 1.0 #9 on the basement around a month ago. Everyone just goes completely silent when free offerings are made. It's weird

Also just so its clear, im not saying anything bad about the Outback Haze strain in general, blew me and my crew away .

Honestly the Grail project blew me away , and im definitely a pessimist and never thought it would live up to the hype of Nevil's old famous strains, but so many of the strains blew me away

In all seriousness. We all take ourselves to serious about some things and not serious enough about others.

I believe and respect the passion and hard work of anyone involved with this plant at any point of their journey. Ojd has done plenty to make unique sets of genetics available that otherwise would not be.

In general challenging, putting down and being overly concerned with other people's projects does nothing to advance our own.

I was reading back on some of my hypothesis from a few years ago. I was quite off about some of them and laughed myself. I'm also glad that I put them all to the test with action because it deepens the insight into the holistic system Dynamics. We are all just learning.
