Welcome, welcome to the first installment of the Hungergames presented by Birmaan & his dudes from the forest. - Worms, isopods, mites, springtails, mushrooms and mycos.
Here, the principle of growing is as similar to a forest as possible, with a few gimmicks and all sorts of things around it.
Let's move on to the nature of the arena
Homebox 80x80x160cm = 0.64m²
Two soil boxes measuring 71x40x34cm 65l with a good 35-40l of my soil
A Sanlight Evo 4-80 imitates the sun, with rising and setting and can be dimmed in 1% steps. Perfect for games.
A Prima Klima Whisperblower 300-560m³ provides the quiet exhaust air.
Wind and rain included.
The soil mixture for both boxes is the same. It is more or less the 3.0 mixture from our own house, inspired mainly by BuildAsoil, Team Microbe and all sorts of other things from the net & co.
The first mix is currently in its third run and is performing as it should.
The second mixture is in the second run in the final spurt.
Basis For a good 30l
10l carnivorous soil (mainly moss peat) - moss peat is harder to get here than many other things.
10l compost - (composted manure, garden compost etc.)
11-12l divided into: 6l pumice 3-9mm, 2l rice husks, 1-2l sphagnum, 1l cocos, 1/2l pine bark, 1/2l plant granules (pumice, lava, expanded clay)
Fertilizer components
1/2 cup/130g seaweed powder
1/2 cup/50g shrimp/crayfish powder
1/2 cup/125g neem cake
1/4 cup/40g horn shavings
1 tbsp/15g beef blood meal
1 tbsp/15g horse bone meal
1 tbsp/15g beef bone meal
1 tbsp/10g chicken manure pellets
4 tbsp/40g horse manure pellets
80g mustard flour
200g alfalfa meal
Minerals
2 cups/560g organic lit rock flour
1 cup/300g crushed oyster shells
1 cup/220g natural gypsum
Extras
1l/800g activated biochar
1l/300g Terra Preta Bokashi from EM
2l/40g soil Bokashi pellets from EM
2 cups/330g Diastase barley malt grains
A pinch of yucca powder
As well as two handfuls of everything from my worm farm, worm humus, worms, mites, springtails, leftovers etc.
All in the best possible organic quality, of course.
The water here is fine, but it is run through a demineralization cartridge to provide only the best/purest water.
I normally use a wick irrigation system, but here I water by hand. The pots have no holes in the bottom.
The soil is watered as soon as it is mixed, and when planting the cuttings it is watered by feel, usually around 5-10% of the soil volume.
A pinch of Glückspilze Mykos powder and some charcoal are added to the planting holes.
When first watering, just add a little spiky stem, coconut water, enzymes, microbes and pure water.
Alfalfa and white clover were sown as companion plants for the Cutz, and one or two seedlings will also sprout from the barley malt. I mainly use all old plant material as mulch, leaves, stems, trunks and sometimes also pruning waste or seeded hermaphrodites.
Well-rooted cuttings are planted and then you're ready to go.
The genetics in this run were provided to me by a good friend, many thanks for that @-Sugarnuts I already know and love one or two of the plants.
Both boxes are identically stocked, there are two each of Gorilla Glue #4 - the original @El Pollo Diablo , one each of Lemon Drip #2 - selected by @-Sugarnuts , as well as his Zaï Zaï, of which two each are growing again, also two each of White Widow from a friend of a friend, which is supposed to be older. And finally a Larry Jones #3, crossed and selected by @Sour7 a sweet casey jones.
To put it simply, 8 cuttings per box. ^^
Day 3
They were allowed to root for 11 days at 16/8 and settle into the arena, from then on the nights got longer.
After about a week they were watered for the first time. 1.5-2l per box.
Two days later they were given the same amount of water with a sip of organic coconut water and a teaspoon of aloe vera powder.
And from then on, water every one to two days.
The alfalfa and white clover seeds also sprout after a few days.
The straw circles are mushroom breeding places for blue oyster mushrooms, let's see if that works, a few days later it was lightly covered with whole barley straw.
But the next attempt will be for lime mushrooms, which can tolerate higher temperatures.
The alfalfa shoots into the ground, which is wonderful for the worms and the soil conditions.
Flowering day 1
I forgot to mention that in the vegi the lamp was running at 40% - 102w and always at a distance of 40cm from the plants.
For the first week at 12/12 there was 60% - 153w, from tomorrow there will be 70% - 178.5w.
I also have a 50min sunrise, a peak at midday and a 15min sunset. I will provide more details later.
...Then continue tomorrow...
