Wishing you the very best of luck!

I've had success with 15-20 year old seeds.

I see you have removed half the shell. How on earth did you do that? I have trouble just popping the shells open.

What are they soaking in? I've had success (40-90%) soaking with dilute hydrogen peroxide/mineral water and airstones for 24-48 hours. crack shell, change water, airstone for another 24 hours, plant in compost.

No tap water ever...

I've found the phases of the moon to help too :ying: and had best results when the new moon is getting larger to a full moon.

Ive been busy testing methods of germination, looking the best way to bring back to life a small stash of Sinaloa from the 90'

sowing directly in your best living soil is the best method and here is why
endophytic fungi

the secret to popping old seeds is in the fungi in the living soil, it's not enough to just pull some happy frog out and try bag soil, often the best living soil is in one's own outdoor flower bed garden - think about those weeds that sprout every time you turn the soil - some of these seeds are 10 - 50 years old, the soil is innoculated with fungi whose primary function is sprouting seeds and encouraging their growth because they are mutualists - https://www.learningarcticbiology.i...cies-and-adaptations/fungi/mutualistic-fungi/

Endophytes

Endophytes are endosymbiont fungi that grown inside the living tissue of higher plants for some part of their lifecycle without causing disease. The fungi receive photosynthates from the plant and enhance plant growth and nutrient acquisition, reduce biotic stresses by enhancing resistance to insects, herbivores and pathogens, and increase the plants ability to tolerate abiotic stresses, such as drought. Studies have shown that fungal endophytes are frequent in arctic environments..

there is a lot of amazing info on this topic and living soil will beat out any other test

Or a live worm bin is supposed to help with germinating old seeds, in a similar way to what you explained @xet

I always think about putting the old seeds in the worm bin but then opt for the peroxide as it seems so counter intuitive.

Everything sprouts in the worm bin though. I just cant bring myself to put my seeds in there :giggle:

The worm bin is living soil, as long as it's not hot compost otherwise it will cook the seeds

Hola Mexi-affecionato,

They say the pure Oaxacan sativa is a Green variety with a wide'ish fingered single serrated leaf decorating a large asymmetrical (Christmas tree) structured plant...well this is my Oaxacan specimen;)

I believe this is the inspiration for the aptly named 10FT Ganga Plant - 100lb Weight song measuring in at just that height😏

I popped seeds from 1970

Refrigerate for a couple weeks.
Let them reach room temp.
Soak in water with EM1 and fulvic acid until they sink.
Germinate in barely moist papertowel inside a ziplock. If they dont sprout in 3 days, remove from ziplock and let paper towel start to try out for a couple days, then re-moisten and place in ziplock bag again for 3 days. Repeat as needed. Sometimes seeds need wet/dry cycles to sprout.
I do all this at room temp and I dont use a heater/warmer.

And what about the bouquet 💐 while you harvested?
When I first cut the plants down there was virtually no smell. When I trimmed the buds I did get a bit of pine covered sticky finger tips. After they dried for a week they put on a nice gentle pleasent smell Tex desrcibed upon breaking up the bud to roll.
He reported on the bud I gave to take home with him.
