I am definately interested too! Mextiza opened my eyes, and I have looked around what is available. Sadly not much in pure form. I have an Oaxaca leaning pheno in flower that has a lovely branching structure and beautiful pistils.

I recently got a few seeds sent from a friend in Zipolite, he says it's from buds sold in 250 grams, male and females mixed ie not much care given but surely locally grown and fresh. I have my hands full with mextiza, punta rosa and panama dc, so it will take awhile before i get to it, still, should be interesting :)

Please keep posting :)

Interested.

Central and South American varieties are right up there on my list of next purchases.... but like you say: there's not much offered as seed. :(

I'd love to see some of these beans up for sale! ;)

great thread...posting so i can re read it later. considering buying land somewhere tropical, so i can grow these great landraces. that'd be awesome.

I became interested in a small area in Mexico in 1992.Wish I had bought then. The place is called Xcalak. It is located in the Southern tip of Mexico in Quintana Roo.I liked it because of it's proximity to a darn fine reef for scuba...but it is also just a short boat ride to Belize.I ended up moving to SE Asia, but Mexico still beckons.(Mexico thru Colombia would be nice huh?)

Great thread!

Imagine what it would have been like without those famous Mexican Sativas?

I was gifted an aspirin bottle with 200+ seeds of Acapulco Gold. The man these came from, we will call him Hector, travels home often to his families' ranch somewhere outside Acapulco (Trying to obtain more info). These were a gift to my friend, from said gentleman, and was told that the seeds were in fact Acapulco Gold that his brother is currently growing at their ranch.
I will be sprouting about 15 at a time to confirm the validity of purity. I truly have high hopes for these. I will keep you all posted on this as it progresses.
We will be breeding with these if things are of the proper quality, and purity.
Lets cross our fingers

Peace

hi amigos...
that sounds nice homebrew420!!!

I do not want to discourage you
but sure I say this to you
is very difficult to find something authentic today
do not be fooled
with the words of the people
especially Mexicans (I'm one of them) :bashhead:
most of them do not have no fucking idea what they are talking
if you found the seeds in a coastal
forget it is 95% you only have trash
but I wish you best of luck

hi friends...
hey gloryoskie. many thanks bro... the problem is I'm tired
There are a only few things I like and every day
is more difficult to find that old strains...
nobody cares about old glories
for example:
not long ago I went up some pictures of the wonderful
panama 1974 and there was no response
I can not believe that a jewel not awaken interest on the part of the forum ;I see only care about "KUSH"
or what are the latest female seeds
or what are the most powerful hybrid
if the issue here only limited
to see cannabis as a drug?
its ok.
but I'm not interested in discovering holy grials and stuff like that!!
as what I think ....

hey Mr. Alkaline... how are you? nice to see ya here dude!!
that pics looks awesome!!! BTW its the 12 fingers hybrid??
the bud looks similar....

hi Jeflife175.. nice pic man.... you know something??
if I only see buds man, its hard to know what type of cannabis are...
but u pic really looks very interesting man... u have more info about it?

hey my friends... here the photos of the "father" oaxacan.... the male used by me on the oaxaca crosses....

I've got a few more pics somewhere floating around. My father sourced these seeds from the town my mother came from in oaxaca. I believe there is still some family in the area, but I have not been there since 95 personally. With these seeds I find a lot of variation. Broad leaf and thin leafed phenos. Some could even pass for a 50/50 hybrid. I cannot confirm the purity of this line but I do know 100% for a fact they are from the oaxaca region!
