I Believe this is 50% hybrid weed of landrace sativa and landrace indica... i don't want to say which until i see it grow out and compare it to another i've seen.... i just knocked out a .3gram bowl of green of this stuff so easy tastes really good.... & i really didn't put a lot into this grow at all so you might be able to tell they're going slow at 6days and 7days.
Well I did not go through this whole thread yet when I am posting this. But it has been discussed at other parts where I left of at.
Anyway some are commenting on the sativa like look to these supposed landrace indica strains they are growing out. And I have no idea what exactly if any conclusion well be drawn from it all.
With that said I wanted to just give my personal experience. I have not grown out any "landrace indica", not yet at least.
Anyway what I can give some input in is what I saw in Afghanistan. I am an infantryman that served from Oct. 2010-Oct. 2011. Logar province, Chark district, Chark valley.
The average elevation at the bottom was 7500ft above sea level, with mountains that surrounded us anywhere from 9000, all the way up to only god knows. The tops of the tallest mountains had perpetual snow on top of there ridges and peaks throughout the year, and when we saw any air assets flying over them, they looked like miniatures.
The climate was seasonal, with heavy snow in the winter including 6 straight weeks of it, dropping down to the lowest of around mid twenties to teens. The summer got up to a high of low ninties, and slight humidity.
Now for the weed! I saw quite a bit of weed grown and smoked during my tour. As for the actual plants I never did see any sativa or sativa dominate strains. All plants looked like indica. Short to medium height, large fat leaves, and a lot of resin production with really limited trichomes. Also when they were flowering they were, or at least to me looked like heavy producers. There were no purples, pinks, or any other colors other than shades of green, brown, and black. I never saw any grown during the winter, only in the spring, summer, and fall did I witness plants being grown. With that said we did not have freedom of movement everywhere in our AO. So it is possible that plants were grown in the winter.
The soil was extremely dry for large parts of the year across large areas of the valley, that even culminated in a few dust storms and small tornado wisps sometimes. The soil was also EXTREMELY fine grade. We called it moon dust because it was so fine. Imagine powdered sugar, but finer. It was brown, and varied from shades of browns to reds. The soil did not seem especially suitable to growing, and I do believe much effort was undertaken by the locals to move huge amounts of dirt one area to another, but I never personally witnessed this. Just that the dirt that the farms had was of a different, more heavy grade. I witnessed the cannabis plants grown in all the variety of soils previously mentioned. And if it matters all varieties of fruits and vegetables were grown around the plants.
As for the smoke report (yes, large numbers of soldiers smoked and did drugs and alcohol while out their) it was pretty good. Nothing like hydro, or even probably what many have grown or smoked on here themselves, but it did do the job so to speak. It was definitely indica, and lasted for a fair while, maybe an hour or two depending on how much was smoked, which was never much, a small joint or two, usually passed around many men, americans and afghans alike. And nobody ever did it regular for obvious reasons. Anyway the dryed bud was very sticky, no trichs, and once again varying shades of green, brown, and black.
Also hashish was available sometimes, but always in small amounts. That was the first time I had ever seen hash before so I don't know how good it should or could have been, and if it looked normal. But it was once again the same different colors or shades, sticky, and very small amounts were used, usually rolled into a tobacco or weed joint. I did on many an occasion see the afghans use it as snuff (chewing tobacco). I am unsure how effective it was, or if it was processed any differently because of this.
Well that is all I got . I know it is a long read, but hopefully it can help people dispel any myths, prove some truths, and if it helps you grow the plants better well cheers
These seeds were given to me by my friend Farouk through the last 40 years. He have collected them in a small village behind his aunt and onkels house. I ha ve smoked the hash from the village a couple of times, and its some heavy stuff they bring back home. I believe theres some idian sativa in these but im not sure. When my friend asks his onkel he just say, that they just harvest and sow..and smoke...They have always been there he says..My guess is that he dont gives a shit about how we grow sensimilla and cube pollinate ect....He has his stash in his backyard and thats what counts.
I wont give any pheno describtions on these as they are made in an open pollination (as it has always been) and i only have smoked of the parents and not the offspring.
Im sure this "Landrace" will give more than one keeper to those who seaks
AOF like to be grow organic style..as they do in pakistan, but u should keep an eye on the top leafs for too much N....She will show eagleclaws very fast and you should use clean water the next couple of time you are feeding.
The smell on these is sweet hash, very nice and better than most of the indica hybrids Ive grown, (which often have meaty/skunk or other aromas in the background)
The growth is tight with stiff stems, very good mold resistance for such tight buds.
