I would be willing to bet that if you chained them together there would be no difference at all over having individual fans for each hood.
Reason being:
lets say you have a chain of 3 lights, they claim that the rad can eliminate all of the heat from said bulb. so ambiant air from growroom enters first hood, light heats up the air, air is then cooled down by said rad back to ambiant temp then into next hood at ambiant temp again, cooled back to ambiant temp again and again. So long as you have a rad on the last light you should be able to daisy chain them.
They arent saying that you cant have one on the entrance to the light they are just saying if you have one hood dont put it on the entrance put it on the exit.
The way you are supposed to think about water cooling is that the water is acting like a heat pump wicking away the heat from whatever the heat source may be, then transporting the water to a outside rad or what have you.
Having a big res wont be enough to cool the water sufficiently unless we are talking about a large pond. You will absolutely need a water chiller with these which pretty much defeats the purpose imho
You could potentially have a large radiator outside with fans attached. however I don't know if that would be enough.

In hindsight I probably should have read the entire thread before posting

goto the Hydro Innovations website and watch the videos they have posted explaining all this... It makes total sense and IMO it seems CHEAPER to run this system vs a large scale A/c system.

Honestly, im extremely impressed with what ive seen so far and i will most defiantly post up pics and what not once my operation is up and running... I cant wait :)

I find it hard to beat a 500dollar A/C if I gotta spend thousands on the Ice Boxes. But I am probably a little naive too.
