VG- the smell in the room is of over ripe fruit. A grower buddy of mine thought cantaloupe and I think pineapples.......kind of. The bushier one has the fruitiest smell to her and the chunky one has a fruity smell with a musky undertone even when smoked it leaves that taste in your mouth. And the high comes on fast.

Here is my comfrey patch I am working on atm. I will sow the Western Yarrow seeds I collected in some of this area for next spring.

I just topped with neem meal and kelp meal in the last few days. The grasshoppers have been munching on them a bit. lol They have to eat too. I am going to trim some of the larger leaves off and dry them to top dress with the next crop going in in a couple weeks to the flower room........and the Fat Bubbas too. I will mix it with crab meal and neem meal that have been mixed with fresh EWC.

and here are some of my wild flowers along a path way I put out that attract hummingbirds and butterflies.

most of them came up this year and will seed in for next year. I will add the Black eyed susan, the Black Samson Echinacea ()angustifolia and Yarrow to this area also.

Nice chunky buds Von.
Your gonna be rollin' in the Comfrey.

I think I can get a good amount out of it before it freezes. I do plan on getting some more to have in containers during the winter and will cover this area with straw soon. Work on the soil by adding compost and a few other things and get it ready for spring.

^^ man speaks the truth.

even my close friends who i feel i could trust with my life... i still wouldnt trust them with my secrets. The currency of gossip is just too hard for most people not to spend.

VG, I have put 4 in flower now. One I had to bend over a bit due to its rapid growth......the more refined one I numbered no.1. I put another 3 into flower last night. I will get some pics up when I get back from out of town business. They are looking killer btw.

Here is No. 1. She vegged the fastest for the females, has more side branching and generally has more vigor than the other females and with the way she has branched out during the first week or flower is doing great. It is what I look for in plants to grow the style I do. She looks now like she can make a good canopy and produce lots of side branch shoots.

Now we wait and see if she fills in good with buds.

this was the plant that was nominated. Looks a lot different now. I am hoping this pheno has other characteristics that I like so I may keep her. We will see.

Well, this is the first time that I've ever posted in the organic section. I'm very new to organic soil growing, I've been growing hydroponically for 10ish years and now would like to make a move to certified organic living soil gardening.
I'm aiming for a mix that would allow me to feed water, with once a week compost tea feeding throughout the whole life cycle of the plant.
For my medium I'm using OMRI listed Sunshine Mix #4 which is Canadian Sphagnum peat moss, coarse perlite, organic starter nutrient charge, Gypsum and dolomitic limestone. By volume I add 25% of expanded clay pellets.
For fertilizers - worm castings (locally made, OMRI listed) and Sea Soil
I would really appreciate some feedback as to how I can improve my mix.
Tea: worm castings, Sea soil compost, blackstrap molasses, RO water. Inoculated with GH Subculture B and aerated for 24 hours.

botanicals is a good direction to look for improvement

check out dynamic accumulators ~you can make a "tea" w/ about a TBS/gal {most folks like to do one @ a time} bubble them if you want 2-4 hours or even over night {not much longer though}

remember to keep it simple

Thank you for the advice. Can I mix in leaf or root powders (comfrey, neem, dandelion) directly into the medium?

Yes you certainly can! You should wait at least 4 weeks for it to breakdown. Otherwise the plant will have a nitrogen defiency, as the bacteria/fungi "rob" nitrogen from the soil to decompose the powders and make them available.
I'm currently doing that, it's far more work than I thought without a proper grinder.

CC are you saying that I would need to mix the medium, fertilizers, powdered plant material and water and let it sit for 4 weeks before putting the mix into containers and transplanting the plants into it?

C

Carbon.Chains

Yes that's what I am saying, you should do that with most organic soil mixes.

It is recommended but there are those that mix and plant sirectly into the mix. I have done so before. Microbeman and Cootz did also with no problems. But if you have never used this particular mix before I would let it compost for a short period of time if the plants are seedlings but clones can take it with out any problems.
