I can't even explain the smell up to right now but it is like a repulsive smell like wood and grass clippings and bark. Only in the last week, those dark chocolate rasberrry/blackberrry undertones of the blue velvet are starting to come through....
Makes me think of the old 70's cannabis botany book by the berkley proffessor where he talks about the landrace canna species putting off a pungent repulsive odor early in flower to ward off birds and bugs, and then sweetening up when ripe to attract those same pests to help spread pollen and seed. I have never seen such a true example of this theory until now. I am guessing this has something to do with the pureness of genetics of this plant...
We've just been callin her Tackle Box man, cuz thats where she came from. She is a seeds outa the stash box mix. We took the mixed seed from "04"05 and "08"09 and mixed em up for a treat. 04 and 05 were only Afghani males and haze, BV, and NL females. Prolly BV Afghani like you said. You're guess is as good as mine, but you are right about the stank and hottness.

Ah, that damn ridonkulous Canon, I shoulda known. Really tempted to somehow pick up an extra body and that lens and learn how to work with Canon gear too just because that thing exists.
Gonna be doing some experimenting to see what else I can do with my shots without resorting to focus-stacking. I don't have anything against focus stackers, I just want to get the best shots possible without extra computer manipulation. Mine come straight out of the camera (in high quality JPEG), into Picasa, crop, and watermark... quick and easy.
