been a shit year with the weather.wettest on record in the already wet north, but they still grow and flower, just watch for mold.i had to chop one plant premature for mold and maybe all before they finish fully, but its been a freak year and i didn't keep many quick flowerers for guirilla spot, they stayed in my back garden low key.peace

normally they nearly done by now,but these seeds i used don't look like they will finish till november sadly.next year i will just stick with skunk 1,and durban poison as they seem to work well for me and give a decent enough smoke.

Loved all that Bud from my youth that came from South America, Giggle weed, then the Hydro Stores started the indoor stuff and everyone started growing Indica thats when I stopped smoking. Till alter when I heard of the Difference and started growing my own Sativas, What fun...

, but equatorial sativas can go from nice, so-so, active buzz when smoked a week or two after drying to sensationally trippy when smoked 2, 3 or more months later...I wonder why this is so?

Also, it's not just the potency and the quality of the high that improves with age, the duration of the high lengthens too.

The answer to this question is in or surrounding the trichome.......perhaps sativa trichomes lose moisture at a much slower rate slower than indicas..maybe the outer membrane of sativas are thicker which helps retain moisture or maybe what is inside indica trichomes is"oilier" or contains less H2O in the first place...I bet Sam Skunkman knows the answer.

Is this all Sativas, or just Equatorial ones ?

Interesting conversation, IMO Indicas do not do this, they get smoother, but there is no "magic" improvement in the buzz, but I had no idea there might be fundamental differences between Sativas based on origin.

I don't know as I've only had limited experience with skinny leafed, long flowering sativas...mostly with bag seed Thais which I grew for quite a number of years, I've grown seed packets of 5 or 6 different haze strains and a few Africans.....anyway, it seems that the longer a cannabis plant takes to flower, the more noticeable the improvement in the potency, duration and quality of the high becomes after a lengthy dry/cure/storage. If a plant takes 60 ~ 90 days from start to finish flowering, I've noticed that the improvement is not immense, but with plants that take 4 ~ 6 months or more to complete flowering, the improvement of a week or two of drying compared to several months of ideal storage would be a difference in a rating of 4 out of 10 to a 8 or 9 out of 10 for the same plant, anyway, that's what I've noticed.

It would be good to hear comments, experiences, theories and suggestions from experienced growers and knowledgeable experts on why this occurs.

Interesting conversation,

It is isn't it!

I've been reading and posting on ganja sites since before Overgrow started up and I don't remember reading an explanation on why this vast improvement occurs, only observations that is does occur.

indica and sativa, some improve with a cure, i personally find and some don't.i find there is no rule for this at all.I dont agree that all sativas improve with age at all.some do yeah ,as do some indicas, but totally varied.more likely growing conditions and play a bigger role.i find earth grown plants can taste and smoke better sooner than mineral rich hydro buds.im unsure ,but i wouldnt say it is black and white, indica and sativa.alot of it is personal perception and choice.some like sour some like sweet,so results and data is so varied and based on personal tastes.peace
