I dont want to act like i know it all like some posting here so if i am not sure i will say it and i dont know what Sam used but as the plants all had a dominet haze expression i guess its a male haze..

Nevil only used Haze males and it dose mater from what i have seen the sativa will be more dominet in a haze hybrid if it uses as a male in a cross.

The male is what determined the sex out come of seed.

I know Nevil used the Skunk as the female side of the cross and the Haze as the father.

Nevil made 2 different versions of Sk x Hz a Sk x HzC and a Sk x HzA.

Looking at the plants grown back in the days when people posted the grows of what Sam breed that were given out as freebies or sold i am guessing he also used a Hz male over the Sk as his version was also very Haze dominant.

Hempy sam made two main skunk haze versions.....an as far as I can remember the originals were put out as being one generation removed from sams 76 seed. The one using the haze famale and skunk male were put out as fuma con dios and came out very haze like....most plants very sativa haze like... The second with the haze male an skunk female were put out as fuma con diablos is the main one......this later was put out as titans haze...was probably thought by the majority to be most potent and was around more.

The ones i remember mostly were from the CW days.

the part i highlighted is what gives some people a problem with you hempy ,
no need to be a smart ass man , pretty obvious who you are directing that comment towards,
everything i said is factual , you can scour the boards and check yourself ,
there is no difference in the sex of the plant used ,

how can you say that about nevils crosses when you didnt try one that used a female ,
because he only released plants that used a male haze ,
so what are you comparing too ??

did you grow any of the seed made that used the female haze he had ??

ill say it again,
landrace sativas tend to dominate hybrids made with them ,
whether they are male or female , no one has noted a difference in using a male or female ,
sam has touched on this himself , you might have read that even??

maybe it would mean more if nevil said it , im sure he knew that it was a specific plant ,
not its sex that mattered ....
selection is the important part ...

Hey guys thanks for the answers,
from what i read it seems the skunk male was some kind of winner pheno which Sam selected and the Haze should also be a good one if used as mom, probably from the last seed batch made for Seedsman or Positronics(just guessing). Inany case itseems like a great old school hybrid and I`ll try to get more than one pack to find a keeper.
Fuma con dios sounds great by the description, the Diablos has mentioned high potency so should be the stronger cross.

By the way, i have three hazes almost finishinglost the count but should be over 16 weeks maybe near 18. Will post a picture or two this weekend.

Looking good hammer.........94 days would be about week 12 or a few days over ?......im guessing it would have started showing the first sign of flowering at about week 9-ish ?.....looks really healthy....personally I bloom at 10 on, 14 off with sativas.....not sure what light hours your on but you probably have other strains in the area aswell......should be nice to see these in afew weeks....cool plant man...will you be testing it out as a cutting too ?
personally id like to see you take these to finish.....remember that hazeA hybrid I put a picture up of...well that too took over 9 weeks to show signs of flowering wen done from a seed plant an also blooms over 20+ weeks... turned out to be one of the best smokes of all tested that season....plants like these can be time consuming an fussy...but a good one is usually worth all the hassle....obviously from cutting should but easier...good luck with yours ...

That will depend if the quality is there. Since both OH 1990 plants are the same phenotype I will most likely let 1 finish, then decide. I do have many different plants in the same room. Most of what I grow is for breeding stock with some phenos kept for personal smoke. After getting feedback from the A5hbx projects I think I'm on the right track. Some of these phenos are the most astringent I've had since 1980. Haze hybrids are where the quality is IMO. Adding Haze genetics was the missing Key to unlock what we've lost.

I run 2 like this under a 600 HPS

Each to there own method of doing thinks mate.

Dry trimmed cured over 14 oz each.

That is how i grow my sativas indoors.

I tie and train them to wires that runs along the wall at 3 levels.

Was it not the case of he had to use males as the best female he had was not cloned and lost? I don't think for one minute it was planned and was through necessity, would also of made practical sense having some clones already to be hit like his NL5.
I think like with most breeding you want the pollen donor to produce reliable results ie pass what it is meant to.

Edit: I see TH already more or less got at the fact your hero should of preserved 1st instead he was left with no choice.

Nevil had 5 females come from all the seed he bought from Sam and 2 males.

Nevil made pure Haze also he tried all types of combinations and his best 2 breeding plants were his males.
