There are 2 1990 OH and 2 THH.. Both OH have tiny pistils all over but no real flower development. 1 is under the Diablo 650 LED the other is under a GC 630 CMH. I see no difference between them

Just 1 OH or a few? At 60 days they should be showing blooms...

Nevil Haze F1s take around 9 weeks or over to show pre flowers or as i call it sex.

My F2s from memory took over 7 weeks .

Hammers OH and later THH are what i would expect as normal.

I would say slow flower that's a good thing w/haze.....seems mac is crossing everything to his 90 OHz male

That 90 hz must be something to it

I also have a THH male that has been in flower for the same 60 days. Much shorter than the female but just as slow to flower. He is in the male 5x5 tent with a GC 420 LED.

SamS told us it was 50/50

I argued the female is what we are really interested in and what we know best which makes it more of an influence

Apparently its a science thing where it is equal

The phenotypes we see are generally identified in the female plants

There are male pheno differences but only through progeny testing on a female will the real contrasts come to light

Anyway technically its 50/50

Using the Y Chromosome to Investigate Ancestry

The DNA in mitochondria – an organelle in the cell that produces energy – are used for genetic studies involving maternal lineage because the mitochondria has its own DNA distinct from the nuclear DNA, and we inherit mitochondrial DNA from our mothers only.

But since most of the Y chromosome is passed on without recombination, the DNA on that chromosome provides a genetic history of a man’s paternal ancestral line.

This part of the Y chromosome does not recombine sexually with the X chromosome during reproduction — meaning that when a father contributes a Y chromosome to the process of sexual reproduction, most of the genes on that chromosome don’t “mix” with the genes on the X. In genetic terms, they’re passed on asexually.

While genetic recombination allows for the expression of diverse traits in offspring, the mostly linear transmission of the Y chromosome isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, that trait has allowed scientists to understand the history of male ancestry.

That's true

however, I think your other statement about male side holding most of the ancestry is factually incorrect

50/50 ancestry influence

I really dont think people really mull over this sort of thing.... Its just pollen is available and it goes on the females in right stage of flower

People like SamS and possibly a hand full of people can have space and legality much less funds to even think out what side contributes more male or female

Apparently its 50/50

And they use the males because you can hit it to everything

It would be interesting scientific study on the influence from male on female To record which phenos come up ...male/female vs female/male

I dont know how many people have done that study but it seems SamS in his experience likes using the haze males

yea im pretty sure you are correct too hg,
50/50,
wouldnt make sense for it to be any other way ,
as far as i know its not whether you use a male across a female ,
or visa versa , its more about the plants and how they combine with each other , not as much which sex they are ,
i dont think there is any equation where it says male cannabis plants dominate over the females ,
if it was always the case , feminised seeds produced without males would be a blunder it seems to indicate ...

lets face it , females are easier to select , then its as u say , just growing progeny from specific males to find out which combination was the best ....

It would be great if it was no big deal to do the detailed experiments needed without clandestine gardening

Good to see some really decent size plants on here I do believe it makes a difference In genetics and final product

And you know these imports were grown huge all season in the mountains

How is it incorrect ?.

The Y chromosome is passed on without recombination, the DNA on that chromosome provides a genetic history of a man’s paternal ancestral line.

Do you know what that means ?. It means the male passes on a genetic history of a males paternal ancestral line.

Only Males do that.

Females dont.

Why Sam and Nevil both said use the Haze male to out cross with.
