Jagged, might I suggest that your first post in a place probably shouldn't be a review of a thread you read calling part of it dribble.

What about after the moth lays the egg, the egg hatches a small worm, it bores a small hole into the stem, and crawls inside?
Do you just let it do its thing, and go away after its a moth, or do you go in and perform surgery with a razor blade? Some of those holes and bubble in the stem are already empty.

If it hasn't been said, Bacillus Thurigensis Kurstaki for the cCaterpillar prevention. Predator wasps too, but I have only used them alongside Btk. Weekly foliar drench from just before transition till flower set.
If you've got em, surgically remove them. Dont stop till u have located the the bug itself. Tedius, but it may save you $$. If you have employees, i would do a cost analysis of what you are actually saving. Farming is math. Acceptable losses.
I have found lone Caterpillars in the garden... one or two slightly compromised nugs during trim... but never had a problem. I did once see a few clusters of eggs on the underside of a leaf... that was the year I added the wasps to the BTk i'd been using BTk forever. neighbors have had issues. My couple were prolly bird drops from other gardens when the cats were already grown.

^mendo-local / I agree, this year the fukn caterpillars are BUSY. This is the only year I had to spray with BTk.

Here's a few shots from one of this year's big girls. No where near the size of y'alls, I definitely didn't top enough, and a lot of the interior was lost to my battle with PM earlier in the summer. This girl stands a little over 8' as far as I can measure.
This cross is White Jones x White Fire OG, a fem cross done last year with one of my closest friends who passed away this year. Myself and a couple other friends have decided to call it Billy Bud in his memory. I hope there's an afterlife so he can get a laugh out of a variety with his name on it. She's a little too leafy for my liking, but I'm going to continue working the line because it's a connection to my friend that I don't want to let go.

The above girl is Billy Bud #9, these are some shots from Billy Bud #3. #3 is in a spot that gets 3 hours less light a day, so she didn't get as tall(probably topping out around 6'), but I really like how thick the buds have gotten on her. A cutting has been reversed of Billy Bud #3 to make S1s, cross with #9, #5, and to cross with a couple of Afropip's Malawi Gold.

Anytime we have a dry year like we are having in cali expect much more caterpillars. The only good thing about the lack of rain is no mosquitos….
As for Dave and ewsf, he's a salesman. I did a side by side with norcal blend, tom hill mix, and black gold dressed with rainbow mix. The norcal blend did the worst out of all.. Tom hill mix did the best and the rainbow mix was not that far behind the tom hill mix..
I tried out organics unlimited soil this year. The plants were kicking ass, way better then ewsf but unfortunately the fuzz came down and chopped all my ladies down..Chopped the entire neighborhoods plants and bounced.. They didn't even take a single plant… Just left them on the ground.
I was just posting about that. Im getting hammered by them.
Ive lost only a minimum amout of bud so far since I didnt know the moths breed during the full moon cycles in Aug and Sept, and I didnt spray with BT. I have now sprayed twice in 4 days.
Ive extracted only 1 worm but Im going tonight with a razor blade and duct tape and Im gonna extract any that have dug a hole and bubbled out my stem.
I almost wondered if they were corn worms since we have tons of cornfields around, but Im kinda thinking its gypsy moths that are laying the egg, and the worm is then eating a hole in the branch and crawling inside, the little bastard!
They are extremely tiny. The hole is teeny-tiny as well.

Just dropped a bunch of pollen on my girls this morning. The weather channel says rain late tonight and tomorrow. Do you guys think a full day is enough for the pollen to stick and start the seed process before it gets wet??

Nice buds, LB. Sorry to hear about your friend. Love the name though! Dedications like that allow the memories to live on. Thats a cool thing!
I'm seeing the cats too over here in the sierra foothills. Started Bt treatment at first signs of them and seem to have them under control. I think i did notice that the evening treatments were more effective than the morning ones. Will be hitting them again this evening.
I have some woody kush and raskal OG that are probably 1-2 weeks from harvest. Looking forward to the end here and putting this season behind me. Lots of lessons learned.
