Hi oldhaole I really like your idea of a cage for support can you tell me a little more about it?

Is it your only support to the plant if so how does the top half of the plant do in strong winds? Is there a horizantal screen or do you tie off individual branches?

What rate are other growers watering at currently?

We're at 15 gallons a day per 200 gallon dummies. All girls are at 6 feet or better and almost as wide as the pots.

No rain for a while here north of Chico.

yo neighbor...I think I hit roughly 10 - 15 gallons a day, spread out over 4 waterings per day via automatic drippers

Here in the bay, I water about 2gal a week. It's all relative to temps, humidity, soil water retention capability, and even what you water. ACT's retain more water than plain water.

The cage is a simple idea. Made of bamboo, it can be thrown together easily. All it takes is some strong string.

The plant is also tied by the main stem close to the top to reduce sway. Each bottom branch is tied individually to the frame. There is no screen. Should I want to place the branch in a certain place one string can take the weight and another can be used to put it in that place. From my pics the plants look shaggy. But every couple of weeks I get inside and take all the branches off that won't ever see the sun. I've found the frames make this easier.

The top branches don't have the weight to peel away from the stem. If they did they would come to rest on the frame itself.

We don't get much wind here. Where the weight comes in is when the plant is in bud and we get rain. The frame takes up all that weight.

Peaceful valley will give you the recipe if you call them and they will have all the stuff you need to make it. I have been using salmon hydrolysate with neem and silica. Works pretty good

I have noticed the plants respond immediately...and gradually

Overall more green and fast growth. Silica is great for stalks too!

Hey now monster wranglers! Can someone please remind me what Tom advises once into flowering? I've been following this killer thread for a long time I thought I'd cut/pasted all the pertinent recipes etc. but I can't seem to find anything regarding Tom's additions (I'm assuming) when flowering is a go....A little help here? His simple soil recipe is kicking ass BTW!!

Watch out for the silica usage. I have heard it will build up on the plant buds and leaves, causing problems when making trim into hash. The good dispensary's test for this.

I take it your referring to the post 30years made. He was talking about bho (nasty shit imo)

Id question highly that hprc is a good dispensary, or ever was for that matter. The meds and service there, as well as the prices, are a slap to the face of poor follks who cant grow their own.

Silica is naturally occurring and I would bet most icusers that grow in soil outdoors especially in the ground, have decent silica levels in their tissue samples.

Agreed most of it is when not done properly, 75% of what goes around is garbage.
When done right it can be amazing medicine.
