Drying large plants off the grid part 3

Drying large plants off the grid part 3

:bump:

Well..it is reaping time big plant people ! I am happy to report that hoop houses, t posts, rebar, tarps, shade cloth and 14 gauge electric fence wire can be fashioned in to some of the finest drying houses you could ask for...I call them my Canna Cabanas......

On nice weather days , I can pull the tarp up off the ends , roll the sides up and air dry , and as TomHill put it, I Gucci it up by adding a Dri Eaz LGR 3500 dehumidifier and drop down sides and ends. With no supplemental heat or any additional insulation I am able to keep a 75* 40% rH space when it is 60* and 80%+ out door , in my area on a nice day at this time it will be mid 70s low 80s and 20-40% rH , perfect drying conditions!

High dollar buildings , A/Cs , furnaces etc., are all expensive and complicated and this method worked SO well.

Pics to follow when things slow down. :tiphat: Maximum respect and many blessings ..This time now is what all the work all year has been about! Give thanks for organics!

I've been hearing a lot about this storm. Forecast seems to be changing every day. I've been hearing there could be devastating rains of up to 7 inches in some places. I know cannabis can handle all types of shitty weather in the fall but this rain may be a little over the top.
Thankfully I've already taken many of my favorite plants but this may be the type of storm that even a mold resistant strain can't take.
I'm just going to stay positive and hope for the best and harvest everything I can that's within 5 days to a week of being done. I've already harvested most of what I consider to actually be ripe.
Good luck to everyone here,I hope everyone gets through this with minimal damage. Mother nature can be such a bitch sometimes.

^yea the storm is looking kind of serious but keeps getting pushed back, looks like we wont have rain until the 3rd or 4th they initially predicted oct1st....we took all our top colas so far but letting the bottom halfs stay and ride it out.....back on the east coast they have a full 7 days of rain so their outdoor crops are pretty much fucked.....i bet everyone is in a mad scramble right now....

theres a crazy run on dehueys up there right now lol....every store sold out. luckily i sourced a few in oakland for cheaper too....

GOOD LUCK YALL....this is the home stretch.

when the rain stops, go rent a helicopter and hover over your plants to dry them out right quik! Might cost a bit, and be a lil over the top, but seems to me to be a lot better alternative to losing the big ass harvests to mold!

Though it sounds like a good idea I would not recomend this method of drying out your plants.

I had this tested a month back. MPD helped me with it. It cost me a few plants.

Here he is at the start of his run. Notice all the crap he is kicking up with his rotor wash.

Since they couldn't take but a few they decided to run over the plants with their chopper.

This is what they looked like after they got run over.

Oh boy....bust out the duct tape. Here it is after I got done.

A couple of weeks later, here we go. Starting to bud.

This is why you don't want to try this to dry out your plants. Say goodbye to the tax man.

P.Kush and H.Skunk. came down last week. P.K. was finished for the most part, so it wasn't a total loss. i found Botrytis in both, so i had to cut the H.S. almost a month early to save for losses. i did like Yes4Prop215 and left the small stuff at the bottom to see what would transpire in the month. i still have B.Cheese out in the garden but will more than likely have to cut that due to seeing a small spot or 2 of the bud mold in that as well. its too tall for me to cover, so i would rather come out with some "acceptable losses".

I have been lurking on here a long while, but never signed up. i suppose it is time to break the silence after my long run of no posts and not talking to anyone. figure its better to have some posts than be a random question asker that will make people uncomfortable.

Toured some gardens in Butte county today and all looked good. Larger plants took a hit with the rain. Lots of stuff still on the vine. Some NL x Haze girls caught my eye but they won't be ready for another month...hope they make it!

Colorado Front Range SNOW STORM currently blowing... high 30s as HIGH today, with overnight low scary low...

Fired up the backup backup last resort... .25 million BTU propane heater that literally incinerates money!

Hoping for the best, dry trimming sucks!

oldhaole that's some crazy shit dude! Fack. Glad you were able to perform field surgery on it. Did they see you? Ridiculous...friggin helicopters and frogmen to cut plants. Would have hid and launched bottle rockets at them. Seriously. Could even use a potato gun...but if you hit the helicopter or a pig they'll probably shoot at you. Idk. Fucked up shit.

Nice big naturals here!
