question for tom, ganga d, nomaad, butte and all you others with plants it'd take me my life to smoke. i know its alot to ask but if any of ya'll could help with even one of these i'd be so happy.

I'm working on my soil mix for next year, and while i'm not trying to push the double digits in yield, my aspirations are still big.

so i have 3 soil mixes for different life stages, but i'm only going to get into my mid veg/flo one for now.
but anyways i'm working on trying to dial in my soil mix and have added up the nutrient levels in the products i'm using and get around a N-P-K 95-85-85, C-M-S 75, 45, 60 (These are simply the addition of all the values at a 10 gallon rate.) Should i reconfigure the values to try and achieve a move level ratio of C:M:S? I feel like with that much calcium somethings bound to get locked out, BUT if optimum base saturation for CA is around 76% and MG 13%, then would most the calcium just get absorption on my 10% pumice (cec around 150) and 20% rice hulls (similiar CEC) aeration filler.... and not lock out whatever ca does? (too lazy to look up mulders chart atm :whistling:) But tom i know you love your calcium so i'm trying to run it a lil high like you advise.

Also is P more important than N n K? i've seen figures for a nutrient level around 38:50:43, in ya'lls experience do you guys normally run short of N or what first? This year i've only had bad P trouble, but mostly due to MG lockouts....

Is 2 pounds doable in only 60 gallons? I plan on starting the plants in march?

oh and i don't buy bottled nutes, everything i use has to be sustainable (no guanos, peat moss, perlite). And i tried to figure out how to do this year vegan but uh..... yeah i failed on that part.... so i compromised with some high P fish meal, and decided i'd toss oyster shell in for the steve soloman 3-way buffer all us Organic sub forum regulars use... but thats why all the levels are so high in this mix, i can't just feed some 'organically derived' nutrient

this isn't even the tip of the iceburg, but i wanna wait before i get into counting microbes in teas ramblings...

peace, and any help would be SO appreciated! :thank you:

oh and tom you came into the Organic soil forum a bit ago prolly 3 or so months and you were talking about the chemistry of composting... something about mineralization working on a horizontal instead of vertical way... not sure if it was mineralization but it was about horizontal chemical reactions, i deleted my account than made a new one so i could read all your and coots posts (damn u guys got in some serious bouts btw!) and couldn't find that one again, could you repeat what you meant?

I know we are on trunks, but I couldn't help but throw this in.
Its the Great White Shark

As for snakes, I have relocated 8 or 9 rattlesnakes. 1 of them struck at me (I relocated that one to snake heaven). I live in the chaparral. They are all over the place!

I watched "The Green Rush". THIEVES SUCK!!! (That includes the Feds)

Nice trunk shots all!

Do the entrepreneurs here think there might be a specialty market for medical marijuana lumber? We dried a 1.5" diameter stalk and planed it down into a small board. It's stronger and denser than balsa. A few more and I'd have enough to make something. One would need a very small sawmill, but then think of the cool stash boxes and such that could be made.

I wondered about this also.
Balsa is often used for woodcarving.
A new type of woodcarver could be developing
Stash boxes or pipes.

Soon we'll see t.v shows with Bob the Cannabis Carver:dance013:

We have one more dried stalk, almost 2" in diameter, 12" high with a decent size root ball. My assistant is drilling it out trying to make a bong. If he's successful, I'll post a pic.

With a lighter of course...
