yep, i have the same nightmare each year. i managed to put them off for 3 mnths last year but it was a pain in the ass. and in the end they applied to get a court order to enter my property. so i just have to do one less grow a year. luckily its during the summer, so not too bad, but still could do with out it.
i'm not sure having your gas capped will stop them coming mate, because if you have a boiler they have to by law, service it once a year. good luck with it.

Phew, he's been and gone. no probs with the temporary cap. It took him 5 minutes to do it and never left the one room. As its a pay as you go meter with no credit on it there was no gas to do a check on. All he said was call us when it gets cold and you want it putting back on.
