The outrage was because it was Whole Foods.
I was working in Denver and living in a motel for a couple of weeks. I bought a bag of oranges at Walmart and ate them at night in my room, instead of eating out every night. When I ran out of oranges, I happened to pass a Whole Foods store, so I bought some individual oranges along with some other food. I put it all on my expense report, so I didn't care about the cost. Company didn't care either, since me eating fruit in my room instead of eating steak dinners was less cost for them.
When I peeled the big beautiful organic orange from Whole Foods Market, the fucking thing was all black and rotten inside. They were all that way. I was pissed.
I think I was hearing that their stock price has gone down over the last couple of years and if that is true, I know why.
Face it, except for the bullshit, Walmart and Whole Foods are both corporations whose only reason for existence is to provide shareholder value. Walmart has a faster turnover on their produce, so it is not rotten.
Very thrifty, she buys oranges by the bag
My wife peels them, sections them, puts them on a plate with a fork. Then she brings it to me when I am sitting at my computer, so that I can eat the oranges while browsing IC Mag Forums without getting my fingers sticky. It is nice to have an old school wife.
She doesn't buy them by the bag though. I planted a few citrus trees fifteen years ago when we moved into this house and it turns out that citrus trees like the same sort of treatment that ganja plants like.
We harvest them by the bucket.
We have so many that we can't eat them all, but my wife has a juicer and she turns them into juice. Just like with ganja, with orange juice, Nothing so sweet as your own homegrown!
Now the citrus trees are making blooms and the bees are hard at work pollinating the plants. Citrus blossoms smell almost as good as ganja buds.

My Lemons, Myer Limes, Mexican Limes are very productive. (Hundreds of pounds every year, can't hardly give them all away)
My Oranges and Grapefruit not as productive due to the drought.
