SHPONGLE!

SHPONGLE!

yeah, electronic music is my soundtrack of choice to blazing (if i'm going for more a tranced-out vibe than jus chilling with friends). Shpongle, Future Sound of London, and The Orb are probably my pothead records of choice. That said, DJ Shadow, Air, Massive Attack, Underworld, Ulrich Schnauss are also great. These aren't for everyone, but some old school trance is great- the important word here being TRANCE. Contemporary trance like Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, and Paul van Dyk is mostly rubbish... I'm talkin about classic shit (90's) Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure mixes are classic, Underworld,

Since there's at least one finish person on this thread I should say that I'm very very excited that Venetian Snares is coming to Finland! I just can't wait to see what Aaron has to show us!

Bassbababa, that that video was great. Very unique event. And great sounds, I love it!
YEAH baby! I'm trying to get some money to buy the tickets. I usually don't go to traditional/rock festivals but this one is a must. They have shown great courage to book artists like VS, Kid Koala and what not in a rock/heavy festival.

http://discomanufactory.blogspot.com/ - electro/dubstep/grime/IDM/experiment from Montenegro (Balcan)...

Disconsolate Manufactory is dark and grieving, bleached and industrialized, duo multimedia project. It's music is filled with the screams of the wounded mechanic beast and howls of the primordial emptiness. In plain words: slow, dark, industrial and often melancholic.

Great Thread!!!

Great Thread!!!

High, evryone, let me echo the knowing, the mighty Shpongle , Ozric Tentacles, Gong/Tim Blake/Hillage, and Clearlight, for the old school, new stuff which is really great is: Alpha Conspiracy, Noiseshaper, Download, Lida Husik, Children of the Bong! BTW, is there a place here for people to share their own electronic music together? Happy Thursday, all!

Yeah. I'm looking forward to see Ozric Tentacles live too. The downside to the big rock/metal festival thing is that they're more against potsmokers. Though I think there will be lots of drugs in there this time because of the artist list

Nice thread Alex... Gotta give respect to Simon Posford, been listening to every ego of his since the LSD album under his Hallucinogen pseudo. Vsnares is in my tops as well, My Half, off his latest album My Downfall... chokes me up. Also, I don't think I've seen his name mentioned here, but if you haven't listened to Richard Devine's work yet, you truly have not heard how electronic music is evolving... The guy uses genetic coding of plants and animals to sequence algorithms which manipulate an atonal environment of sound and noise. Sample his album Lipswitch with a sativa, guaranteed to make silence deafening.
