Good day, friends! Today I pre-soak 10 PP seeds provided by esben,
( showing his "reflective" side, above! ) in preparation for tomorrow's sowing!
I have some NepJam's vegging now, which will be done indoors, with the notion of being able to keep males to use to make F2's, as well as breed back into my lady Neeple. (Deep Chunk X Highland Nepalese)
I figure while I'm at it, I'll keep some pollen to use on a PP or two, co-mingle nepalese genes! Such a fun hobby!

So today is the day....

This morning I prepared the little peat pots with soil.
After filling the pots I wetted the soil with some water and added a little Bio flower.
The Bio Flower makes the soil a little sauer.
That's what females like... warm and moisty soil.
After wetting the soil I putted the seeds on the moisty soil.
After I covered them with soil I putted them in front of the window near the heater.
Not too close to the heater...
The best temperature to germinate is 23 degrees celcius.
Lucky overhere... sun is shining today, but outside it's 7 degrees.
The temperature dropped again below 10 degrees by day and near 0 by night.
I hope against the time the seeds are germinated the weather will be a little warmer.

I wish everybody a sunny and fruitfull season...

How many people have seeds and who are they? Can we make a little list? So I can more easily find how they are doing? And compare notes? I have never grown outside and am nervous. I don't want them to fail.

Acidic is a better word but I think we all got that. How much is 'a little'?
I think the soil I use is already a little acidic.

On a balcony it doesn't freeze. I live in a flat 3 levels high but in the middle row. It gets very hot there in summer when the sun shines on the walls.

Can it get too hot for the ladies?
But now I am worried about the temperature for the seedlings.

Lovely pics Esben, but they are realy too large...
All my pics are resized into "large email size" in windows picture manager and those are actualy big already for web use.
Your pics apear 4 times as big at my screen and it's not so nice to watch.
So if you can resize them you would do me a great favour.

The Beach Festival is not sure yet.
I don't like running after sponsors (and all the conditions) anymore and the owner of the Karvaan has sold the Beach Club!
I prefer to have a privat meeting, chilling with some friends at the Canna Embassy after the harvest in october.

Verger, don't worry my friend.
There is no list, people will share at this thread and if there are questions you can ask.
23 degrees is the right temperature.
I am sure you will do fine.

My first wish is fixing my teeth properly!
My last dentist fucked it up and just after she fixed my teeth, one tooth broke off.
Now I broke also one front tooth.
Because my dentist fucked it up 2 years ago, the insurance doesn't pay for another 2 years!
I am lucky, because at Freh FM we gave away some seeds to listners of the station 2 weeks ago.
When I phoned the last lucky one next day to send him his 5 seeds, we got a very nice conversation.
At the end of the conversation he told me that he was a dentist!
So I asked him a favour.
He will help me fixing my teeth and I help him with his grow.
I am realy a lucky ass.....

ah almost forgot...heres a lil forecast for my location:smile:
Now we having some weather crash...some rain, some sun...but its warm about 12-15 c at day and 5 at night...They say that the real Spring will come after 15th of April. In the next weekend im goin to make some work at my lil wild plot...

I notice that I arrive a bit late to the celebration but I made it!

This morning, I started the celebration by popping some seeds: Watermelon, egg plant, wild flowers, lavander, corn, and a couple of AF's (part of this year's experiment). And just to make sure the celebration is complete, a seed of purple peace was also planted

I have never grown outside and am nervous. I don't want them to fail.

No need to worry too much Verger. If you have the indoor XP, outdoors should be ok. The main difference is that you won't be controlling the variables (light, humidity, temp...) and so selecting adequate genetics is key. But you already got the genetics part covered

If you follow Darpan's advise, things should run smoothly. (if you want to get technical about things, a lightly acidic soil should be around 6.1-6.3 when you consider that canna will later need a ph around 6.5 - 6.8)

Yes, it can get too hot, specially if they are in pots. Try using bigger, white colour pots. If the heat makes the ground bone dry, you might want to use some hydrogel to make sure that the plant will have access to water at all times. Water in the evenings.

Today I visit some friends and brought them my old branches from last year to burn in the open fire.

We planted some Haze and Green Ambassador seeds and finished national sowing day celebrating at a club.

A great start folks! Good vibes...
