Actually, greyskulls 1st post summed it up nicely. I know his friend and I know who gave it to him. the same guy who gave me a 1/4p every other week to smoke while I was out reppin there. I had about 40 other shops that confirmed the story as well. I have seen 2 very distinct phenos. the one we see here and the super yielder.. the super yielder is crazy. I seen it with my own eyes and its a 3# a light stain at 9 weeks. let alone 12.
the ones in the pics I'm seeing look like the nicer black, but probably only fetch ya 2 a light. its funny hearing Piff because thats what this called in NY lol! It's ok. not the best, not the worst, but it definitely gets you high. Its no Chem or Cindy, but it friggin yields! its one of the only strains in FL that will grow in 90f/rh temps outdoors. since FL is pretty much a year round outdoor venture, many grow black on a pretty large scale.

The black is the black and it's no mystery. It's here in CA, and people are paying 1/3 of their 1st 3 crops. They won't even talk to you if your not running 40 hoods. Personally it's nothing special but 3.5# per light could make you rich. Im so tired of this game! I just want to pull 1 successful huge od grow and 4 big ones inside (500#) to retire & go into a new grey area hobby & profession to enjoy my silver years would certainly help!

thats fuckin crazy bro whoever has the cut wants a full crop in return, spread over 3 crops and minimum 40 lights? They want basically over 100 pounds in return for the cutting?

I have a cut coming to me from the southeast, it's definitely the black haze billed as a 90-day haze. Can't wait to try it out after reading this thread.

Would it be a good idea to run 25-36 per light with 1000 watt lights, 2 gallon pots and lollipop all the plants into one long cola?

IMO it is a waste of time running her like that. You will get better results running 1 per light. FIM her twice and she will turn into a monster for ya. Plus worrying about 1 pot is way better than 25+. Keep it rolling....

Most s. Floridians grow 1 plant per light & veg 4-5' tall. 30 lights, almost 100#. And you can't fuck it up. I like great smoke first over yield. A plant that thrives at 70 rH and 90f temps. Ny piff..

if its the real piff aka uptown haze i'd give up 1/3 of my first 5 crops in a heartbeat along with my left nut... of course i dont sell pot so losing weight doesnt AFFECT ME at all(guess im an idiot).

I end up giving away old buds to friends whenever a new crop is ready anyways.

the black isn't the same shit i grew up smoking on in NYC.
i've smoked some very well grown black (ty $M) and i knew instantly it wasn't the same.
she is no slouch tho, just not that uptown.

Hey guys just found this thread and wanted to add my experience with the black haze and the new york uptown haze/piff for that matter. I lived in the Laudy Duady area in south florida for 6 years and had a stable connect for the black haze for most of the time. A college friend of mine from Trinadad introduced the black to me. He said he would get it from a puerto rican connect who was close to the source. The weed had very little bag appeal, thick red hairs, somewhat leafy but very potent, no ceiling and that musky haze odor. Bottom line some of the best I have ever smoked.

Now a few years back after my florida days Im visiting a friend in NYC and hes all excited telling me the piff is back, apparently he was'nt able to get it for a while. I have no idea what hes talking about. He tells me its the best weed in the city supplied by the peurto ricans. After picking up an expensive half O I crack the bag and instanly recognize that musky haze odor, and after a further lokk it reminds me alot of the black haze i used to get. some serious potent sativa.

Is it the same I have no Idea. But very similar no doubt. The one thing I took from this is the puerto rican connection. Ive even heard others on this site mention the same thing.

One other note is when I was living in Fl I would pay attention to the local bust. More than a few times I saw 30K watt open bulb rooms with massive sativa trees with references to puerto rican organized crime in the story. I would always say to myself that shit must be the black.

living in orlando for many yrs. the black could be found there too..rumors there were it was a pruple haze from pr, jamaica somewhere down there that gave it its black color..all i know is it didn't sell very well there..in the eyes of people paying top dollar the bag appeal was just too much too swallow..

that wasn't my best round with her fwiw...ive recently have had her much more dialed in...shorter time.,bigger yields, bigger calyxes, dense budage...i will be saving some for when i get there...for you buddy:comfort:...it's strange cause some say it is some say it's not...either way it's the Black's...and it will "NEVER"leave my garden...

and Oz it's all good mang....East Coast smokes Chems/Haze/Sour's
and West Coast smokes kush and kush hybrids...well as a market standpoint imvho..different stroke's for diffenent folks....check harborside for some blacks;)

the blacks not "the piff". and actually there is no 'piff" strain. younger than me people cal all haze piff. people i knew were using for that banging bangin haze, but then all haze turned to piff.

it used to be 189, then it was "puday" then it was skatey, then its all piff. but whatever. there is SICK ass haze in the city area, most people just end up with the florida leftovers and arent that impressed.

this happened like back in october, and im sure it was on here, but it kinda ties into this whole backstory of city haze in general-- http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_...launch_jayzs_career_arrested_in_ny_marij.html

Rap mogul Kareem 'Biggs' Burke, who helped launch Jay-Z's career, arrested in NY marijuana ring bust

A rap mogul who helped launch Jay-Z's career was busted Friday with 42 other people when the feds rolled up a drug ring that controlled much of the pot market in the city.

Dubbed operation "Green Venom," the feds arrested Kareem (Biggs) Burke after intercepting telephone conversations. According to a federal complaint, Burke and alleged ringleader Geovanny (Manny) Rodriguez Perez discussed "potential marijuana suppliers" in California.

Burke, who co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay-Z and Damon Dash, was spotted last month in Inwood taking a bag full of "narcotics proceeds" out of Perez's car and putting it in the trunk of his BMW, the court records show.

Perez, who was looking for new contacts after some of his South Florida suppliers were busted, was also in cahoots with Matthew Woodstock Stang, an ad executive for pot-promoting High Times magazine, according to the indictment.

Stang was caught "discussing the quality of marijuana that Stang's associates could provide" in telephone calls intercepted over the summer, the papers state.

The members of the ring face 10 years to life if convicted of conspiracy to distribute 1,000 kilos of marijuana.

"This isn't just a group that controlled one block, one neighborhood," said Jim Hayes special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

"They dominated the wholesale marijuana market in New York for 20 years."

And while court papers revealed that Perez dangled a child on his lap during one of his meetings with Burke. Still, he was to be feared.

"He has either wiped out or threatened to wipe out competitors," Hayes said.

Starting in 1992, Perez's ring made more than $20 million by trucking tons of marijuana into the city where the dope was split up and distributed by three cells, the papers state.

The marijuana was masked by shipping it in tractor-trailers filled with flowers, a law enforcement source said. The pot was packed into separate boxes marked with an "x," the source said. Perez paid his suppliers by using couriers who took "commercial flights with large amounts of cash hidden in their luggage," the papers state.

The investigation that derailed the ring was launched 18 months ago after investigators sniffed out the money trail, the law enforcement source said. In addition to rounding up the ring, the feds seized $1 million in drug profits and 177 pounds of pot.

Burke and Stang appear to be buddies and both have known Perez for some time, court papers show.

High Times editor Dan Skye said Stang "was an ad guy" for the magazine. When asked if he'd heard from Stang since his arrest, Skye replied, "Nope."

Authorities say the men grew the marijuana in Florida, and then smuggled it to a drug ring that has dominated the New York market for decades
By JANIE CAMPBELL

So much for the high life in South Florida.

Federal investigators arrested a dozen Miami and Miramar residents Friday as part of a probe into a nation-wide, multi-million-dollar pot ring that also brought charges against an advertising rep for marijuana mag High Times and a man who founded Roc-a-Fella Records along with rapper Jay-Z.

The role of the South Florida smugglers was considerably less glamorous than those of writer Matthew Woodstock Stang and music man Kareem "Biggs" Burke: prosecutors say they grew the marijuana hydroponically in Florida, and then smuggled it to New York stashed amid legitimate goods on flatbed trucks.

Stang was allegedly the supplier to the man who ran the pot ring, identified as New Yorker Geovanny "Manny" Rodriguez Perez. Burke, who is said to have joined the ring in 1991, was caught on wiretaps with Perez referring to the "grow houses" in Florida.

ICE officials say the syndicate has dominated the marijuana market in New York for decades, bringing in an estimated $20 million in profits and several tons of the drug into New York.

10 of the dozen South Florida suspects were arrested in Miami; the other two were apprehended in New York. They are identified as Arturo Mena-Sifonte, Osmel Vazquez-Perez, Javier Falcon, Jose Betancourt, Edwing Alberto Herrera, Idael Mena-Hernandez, Daniel Fernandez, Jesus Sanchez, Adel Santana-Zamora, all of Miami-Dade, and Leticia Raposo of Miramar.

Altogether, 45 people were taken into custody in "Operation Green Venom," a sting that has netted about 225 pounds of marijuana and $1.85 million in pot proceeds since 2008. Federal agents say they seized an additional $2 million and more than 360 pounds of marijuana Friday.

The South Florida smugglers are charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 1,000 kilograms of marijuana. They face up to life in prison and a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison if convicted.
