this strain report is wonderful i love the old genetics. hard work to keep a clone 15 years ... big respect
Thank you that's much appreciated! She's 16 years old now and I've been lucky to keep her for so long.

This is why you keep a plant for 16 years. 2 wk clone. 2 wk veg. 8 wk flower. 84 day life cycle from cutting. About 2 oz per plant in aeroponics of rock hard nugs iced out like a freezer. Lemon pledge fuel and the best tasting flower ever imo. Repeatedly tested over 25% THC (10+ times.) Never once popped a male flower under extreme stress. Grows like a perfect plant. 11/10 🦄

2 week clone, 2 week veg and 8 week flower,
You have it all. No wonder you kept it for 15* years.
You should s1 it and pass her on.
As you'll be destroyed if she is lost.
Agreed, she is a superstar. Almost lost her a couple different times, but had her backed at a few spots in case anything happened.

I keep multiple plants of her and have a bunch of tissue cultures, so she's in it for the long haul. Have some things in the works now, but eventually will do some clone and s1 drops.

Made a couple crosses with her that are really good, but I'm more focused on cultivation over breeding atm.

This is the only way to do it. Have people you trust.

Clone backups at multiple locations
S1 stock
Hybrids.

If all hell breaks loose and you need to go back to seed you will most likely find something extremely similar.

The Berry (aka Berry Manilow)

SFV OG x Old School Skunk
Bred in 2009 - WNY
Genotype Tested in 2017

This is my baby. I've kept her around for 15 years because it has been my absolute favorite smoke for so long.

It's mostly OG Kush genetics, crossed with an unknown version of skunk. The genotype test shows (in descending order) OG Kush, Skunk, CBD, Hemp, and a small amount of Landrace. It grows tall and lanky like a sativa, with spaced out monster nugs that are super dense. She has an overwhelming essence of lemon pledge fuel, with berry overtones. Very skunky as well, you can smell her down the street during flowering. It's intoxicating, and the taste lasts forever. One of those that tastes good all the way at the end of the bowl or joint. I've spoiled so many of my friends with this, once they try it, they always tell me it's hard for them to smoke anything else haha. I feel the same way.

It takes 9-10 weeks depending on growing style. We've owned an HPLC for in-house testing for the past 2 years and she has repeatedly hit mid 20s-low 30%, with the highest hitting 31.1% thc at 9-10 weeks. She has tested around 30% 6 times already. The thc doesn't really matter to me, but it's cool to see some numbers after all these years confirming what I already knew. She's strong and delicious, and that's what matters. She has saved my life in more ways than one. Great for ptsd, depression, pain, you name it. She is a miracle. It's been really cool to test throughout the finishing to see the best time for harvest. Generally she has been peaking at the 9 week mark, after that the only increase is in CBC & CBG with the thc leveling off. High terpenes as well usually over 3%, but will be taking it to the state lab soon and get a full terpene profile.

She has been kept in the family for all these years, with only 4 other people ever growing her with me. I've been a long time lurker on some of these forums over the years, but always kept everything extremely private. Since legalization here, I've decided that it's time to come out from the shadows.

She dumps trichromes for hash. The bubble tests around 50%, but I just tested the latest run of live bubble hash and it was 67%. Her live resin & diamonds tested between 93 & 97%.

The first photos are grown in aeroponics as that's our most recent setup. Before that we were running DWC hydro. Before that was coco using both salts and organic inputs, all under LEDS. Before that, it was super red HPS running organic soil & nutrients. She performs well in all environments. Have yet to see her pop any male flowers ever. One of the most vigorous and best growing plants that I've seen.

Brother thanks for sharing such a gem!!! And mad respect for keeping it for 15 years!

Absolutely. We've had a group of us working together for a long time and have held a lot of cuts since then. Without that, so many would be lost. Even with that, we lost a couple good ones, and it still hurts to this day.

We've mainly kept clones because look at the sour & skunk, they haven't been able to be reproduced exactly. I'd still take close enough from seed vs. anything at all though, so it's another form of redundancy and a "just in case" scenario.

Wish I knew about tissue culture back then, but thankful that everything we have is now backed up in long term storage.
